Keaton's P.OV

"Ophelia!" Shawn growled, from the top of the stairs.

He thudded his way down the stairs and stalked towards the kitchen. Ophelia's head snapped around to face Shawn. She froze as she saw Shawn's infuriated face. Never once in my life had I seen Shawn look so angry.

Worse of all, I couldn't think of a reason as to way he was mad either. His eye's narrowed as Ophelia shrugged him off.

"What's this I hear? Why did Leyton tell me that Keaton walked them to school today?" Shawn questioned, crossing his arms.

Ophelia didn't face him, but scrubbed the same spot a longer than needed. I played with my phone that was in my hand. Tossing it between my hands; which distracted me slightly from the brewing argument.

"There is no reason why you can't-." "You're overreacting." Ophelia said nonchalantly, cutting him off.

She carried on dancing around the kitchen, as Shawn's glare followed her movements. He spread his legs, widening his stance. I watched tensely from my chair, as Shawn's fists clenched and unclenched.

It was deadly calm- like the calm before the storm.

I didn't want to say anything to Ophelia, but I'm glad Shawn was saying this. I know I now lived in this house, but I had to leave half an hour earlier to drop of my niece and nephew- when Ophelia didn't work at all.

Shawn sucked in a deep breath, "How am I overreacting? You're asking your seventeen old brother to drop our children off at school!" Shawn yelled, pointing to me.

Ophelia hesitantly, turned to face Shawn. Her face morphed into one of horror, as she saw Shawn start to go red. His vein in his neck bulged, with the words he screamed.

"I work longer hours so you don't have to work. You have no excuse to not drop them off at school! You're just being plain lazy!" Shawn roared, before turning on his heel and leaving the kitchen.

The sound of the pine door being slammed ricocheted throughout the house, leaving Ophelia and I stilted and in a tense silence. She stopped cleaning the kitchen surface; instead, she came over to the table and dropped her head onto it.

Naturally, I reached out to comfort her. I paused when Ophelia sent me a sharp glare. Maybe I should just leave the house. I seemed to cause more problems for this family anyway.

The waves rolled towards the shore before disappearing into nothingness. I loved the beach in the summer. The sea looked such a pretty blue, making you want to jump into the sea.

Unfortunately, this was the UK and the sea was typically very cold.People walked by with ice creams, clutched tightly in their hands. Any warm weather in the UK, and people were moaning about how hot it was and not being able to cool down.

It was mainly because we didn't have air-con here. We didn't really need it. I pushed off the ground, and drifted my penny board around the few people ambling by. I narrowly missed a few little children, who thought it would be funny to play chicken in front of a penny board.

I briefly looked up to the sky, and saw a grey cloud looming over head. It made me feel a whole lot better. Sarcasm intended.

My hands became clammy, as I thought about Shawn and Ophelia's argument. They had always been so happy when I had been round before. I guess you never know what goes on behind closed doors.
