As the stiff back hit the soft mattress on bed, Jungkook closed his eyes to get rebooted to keep the life going. Usually he dozes off within no time but today his mind seemed to take a stroll around today's events. Unfortunate coffee situation with his boss that might impact his appraisal, a crying woman confessing of her husband's murder that seemed hella interesting, Sung-ho's tremendous effort to steer clear of Jungkook's involvement in the case, bumping into his past love or ex best friend, spending time with a total stranger. While all the factors brought frustration and annoyance, the last one was successful to bring a smile.

The cute dimpled smile couldn't take its farewell from the cop's mind. It was lingering along with the handsome face and the charming attitude. Jungkook kept wondering when was the last time he was asked about his day like Namjoon did. It was totally platonic and random yet the subtleness in the approach couldn't be overlooked. The question wasn't about Namjoon's sexuality, it was about Jungkook's sudden feeling of comfort in the company of a stranger. He barely knows about the guy except for his name and food preferences, then why his heart skipped a beat at the those eyes was the biggest mystery.

Jungkook's workaholic nature and estranged family have kept him away from friendly interaction with anyone. He can never count on the people at work, so having a silly discussion on what toppings are best on a pizza or which place sells the best kimchi fried rice was way out of his expectations. On the other hand, those silly ones uplifted his ruined mood caused by the snobbish boss and the competitive colleagues.

"Fucking asshole!"

The derogatory comment was passed for himself as soon as he realised what mistake he committed. Being completely carried away by that sexy flipping of hair with the elongated artistic fingers, Jungkook forgot to ask for the number of that dreamy person. It's not that he would have gone all bold to ask Namjoon out, but staying in touch with such a sensible person seemed like a blessing, after all, the touch of philosophy in the discussion of food was like a chef's kiss.

"Where shall I find you, Namjoon?" The last sentence before the tired man drifted off to sleep.

The morning hustle at the Kim household started as Sang-mi started yelling at Do-guk for missing his medication schedule. Although she gets mad at her husband for being forgetful of most of his personal things, inside she loves to take care of him for being the best husband as she would proclaim silently.

"Sang-mi, I was about to take it after breakfast but you reminded me before that." Do-guk mentioned beforehand watching the angered expression in his wife's face as she came to the table holding a strip of medicine. The fierce criminal attorney would always turn into a puppy in front of his wife whom he loves with his life.
"After breakfast? Really? Honey, don't you remember doctor said the latest prescribed ones have to be consumed empty stomach?" Her pitch took a quantum leap right after the word 'honey' which was only used as a sarcastic sweet name.

Namjoon chuckled while sipping the fruit juice at the fight of his parents. This was a daily occurrence in the house which he didn't mind at all for he was aware of the genuine love and care his parents harboured for each other. He always dreamt of having a happy relationship like theirs but still cannot figure out what kind of person he would actually like. In the midst of all the sweet domestic chaos, his mind wandered along the alley of last evening.

The handsome yet adorable man was quite something to think about. The tattoos on his fingers and the ones peeking through the sleeve of his jacket were found interesting by the law student. Being an introvert, he felt like an opposite at the presence of Jungkook. He didn't have any knowledge about his age or profession, but maybe his not so academy oriented brain cells wanted to know that too.

"Joonie, have you thought of the internship we talked about?" Do-guk's question compelled Namjoon to put a pin on thoughts about the handsome stranger from the burger joint.
"Yes dad, I did." Namjoon put down the half emptied glass back on the table.
"So what have you thought?"
"I will join under the supervision of your assistant. It will give me a great exposure to the field."

Do-guk nodded with a proud smile at his son's decision while Sang-mi started passing judgemental look at her husband saying, "Don't you dare to make my son join your team. I know you will make him just like you, a law robot. My Joonie will apply for internship under someone else who knows how to balance work and life."

"Mom, don't worry, I will balance both and also make dad do it."
"That's my boy." Do-guk smirked victoriously at his wife who just rolled her eyes making their son laugh at both.

"Which is the most recent case you have been looking into, dad?" This was Namjoon's way of keeping his parents at bay from arguments.
"There's an interesting one. It's not officially my case yet but on the way." Do-guk said wiping his mouth after finishing his breakfast.
"What is it about?" Namjoon asked curiously.
"Some millionaire woman in her early 40s killed her husband and walked to the police station confessing about it.

"So, you'll be fighting for the lady who is a murderer?" Sang-mi questioned with disgust in her tone.
"Honey, there can be a lot of possibilities behind a crime. The woman hasn't spoken anything yet about her intention but it is suspected that there's more and what if she had valid reasons behind the murder? Whether she wants it or not, the entire truth has to be revealed based on which the judge will announce the verdict." Sang-mi wiggled her brows to process all the possible complications of a simple murder.

"Okay, I need to leave for my classes. See you soon mom and dad. Bye!"
"I will be leaving in a minute or two too."

Both the Kim men made their way out of the house on the way to their respective destinations.
