CAIN
I knocked on the door, reminding myself of the face I was supposed to meet in a few minutes.
An old lady opened the door all smiling, and I spoke.
"Rio?"
She kept staring at me, still that polite smile spread on her lips and I knew she wasn't aware of what was happening. So I lifted my shirt, showing the gun stuck in the waistband of my jeans. She then looked down and made room for me to enter.
That guy Rio did not tell her about it, I guessed. But she knew who I was, you couldn't live in the neighbourhood without knowing who owned it.
I made my way through the house, remembering where was the most likely room I'd find him in, given that I have already been here before.
I entered the living room, oldly decorated and messy.
Rio, the eighteen year old guy with tanned skin turned to me, apprehension filled his eyes.
"Time's out." I announced.
"What was the amount again?"
People asking for the amount were always announcing that they were not going to respect their part of the contract.
I got my gun out. "5k."
"Ok, I've got three right now, if you could—"
"5k now or you pay with your life."
I had mastered the art of being cold at the bare age of 10, doing it now was not even something I'd have to fake.
"Or get beaten up, you have many options."
He glared at me, and what was considered the most idiotic act to ever do, he'd find it to be the best option.
He ran to the door right next to me, but I caught him before.
My arm wrapped around his shoulders, and he struggled. He lifted his right arm but I seized it and folded it backwards.
By the scream he let out I definitely broke something.
He tried to run away but I grabbed something that I couldn't guess was a rope or a belt, and pulled him backwards. I tightened it around his neck, making him gasp for air.
I bent down, one knee on the ground. "We don't do delays, 10k by tomorrow or death." I grabbed my small knife and stabbed him in the lower back. And his two thighs.
"Understand?"
He was trying to inhale, but somehow managed to let a 'yes' escape in a gasp.
I let go of him, heading to the corridor to find the grandma from earlier.
Surprise climbed up my chest, and it would be a lie to say there wasn't a bit of relief also.
If she did not witness what happened, I wouldn't have to kill her. I'd prefer it that way.
So I searched for a piece of cloth somewhere while heading to the door, wiped the small amount of his blood on my hands and exited the building.

As I entered the living room, Nate interrupted me before I could reach my room.
"Cyan's off radars again, do you have the time?"
