Broni was now having lunch with her friends, Harry and Hermione. They were engaged in a conversation, however the peace was short lived.
Broni shook off the impact from the paper airplane that just hit her head, her eyes narrowing as she turned to face Mattheo Riddle and Draco Malfoy. Standing up, she addressed Mattheo with determination.
"Seriously, Riddle? Do you get a kick out of bothering people, or is it just a Slytherin thing?"
Mattheo and Draco exchanged smiles, enjoying to see that they've managed to get on her nerves.
"Well, well, if it isn't the spirited Gryffindor beauty. What brings you to the den of snakes?" Mattheo added.
Broni's patience waned, and she shot back, "I'd rather face a hundred snakes than put up with your vile nonsense, Riddle."
"Perhaps you Gryffindors are just as dense as they say. Can't even handle a bit of harmless fun, can you?"
Broni's eyes flashed with anger, "Fun? This is your idea of fun? Insulting people and acting like a complete prat? Get a life, Riddle."
"It's a wonder Gryffindor even wanted you. You're like a faded copy of their so-called bravery, you're desperately trying to shine in the shadow of others."
Broni, though stung, retorted with steely determination, "At least I don't have to resort to pathetic pranks and petty insults to feel significant. Slytherin must really be scraping the barrel for 'talent.' "
Broni then stormed out of the great hall, but Mattheo didn't let her escape so easily. With a casual saunter, he followed her into the corridor, catching up with her brisk pace.
"Leaving so soon, Broni? Couldn't handle a bit of truth?" Mattheo taunted.
Broni halted, her fists clenched, but she turned to face him, "Truth? All I see is a Slytherin drowning in his own arrogance."
Mattheo chuckled, "Arrogance, or perhaps a Gryffindor unwilling to accept her own shortcomings?"
"I'm not the one resorting to insults and pettiness. You seem to be built on the foundation of empty words."
Mattheo leaned in, his tone low, "Do you know who you're talking to?"
"Yeah and I don't really care."
"You should care. Beneath this surface lies something you might find irresistible."
Broni scoffed, "Irresistible? I'm not interested in playing games with someone who's all talk."
Mattheo, unfazed, countered, "Talk or action? Maybe you're just afraid to see where it leads."
"I'm not afraid. I'm just wise enough not to fall for empty promises." Broni replied.
