Sung-ho's constant bragging of the negligible praise he gained from Bin for collecting the evidences from crime scene of Byeol's husband tired Jungkook's ears. It was just an acknowledgment of "okay" but his competing enthusiasm saw it in a bigger perspective which was absolutely stupidity in the younger's opinion. Anyway, he decided to keep quiet considering the 'good employee' image he needs to maintain.

"Jeon, I would want you to assist Sung-ho in this case." Hopeful smile and shocked frown were received from Jungkook and Sung-ho respectively at the order by Bin.
"Thank you, sir." Jungkook bowed his head a little.
"Sir, with due respect, why? I'm already taking care of it." Sung-ho objected.
"Jeon has been a significant part of our team with great, but I'm watching that he's in the precinct for most of the time these days and piles of data work are being assigned to him. I don't want to waste his skills doing such work which can be done by juniors. He will be visiting the crime scene with you today when you will go for a re-check." Bin's straightforward answer impressed Jungkook while the sub-inspector wasn't glad at the declaration.

"What's there to re-check? I have gathered all the evidences yesterday. Blooded knife already with us, dead body has been sent for postmortem. The living room where Kun-woo was killed had barely a couch and a coffee table, not much things were contaminated during the crime."

"Exactly that's my concern, Sung-ho. Kun-woo was a millionaire businessman and Byeol was holding a lump sum of shares in the company. No domestic violence or unethical conduct has been reported by any of the workers at office and calculating the shares, I can say Kun-woo left a lot of inheritance for Byeol. Even the housemaids confirmed how happy those two were in their 12 years of married life. Then why would she do such a horrible thing to her loving husband? Also, if you clearly listen to the recordings of the housemaids, you will find one of them mentioning something about an expensive vase in the living room that she saw the previous day as well. Then where is it now? Why has it been removed from its place? Moreover, Mrs. Lee is not saying anything. Famous criminal attorney Kim Do-guk has been assigned for the case, he will probably be visiting her tomorrow or day after tomorrow once he officially receives the case. I want every necessary evidence to be ready by that. Keep questioning yourselves guys, put yourself in Byeol's shoes and think what might have gone wrong. I don't want any stone to be left unturned. Got it?" The last part was meant for both his subordinates.

"Yes, sir!" They responded in unison.

Jungkook glanced at the cleaned crime scene which was a shocker considering the mystery behind the murder.
"Sung-ho shi, the room looks cleaned."
"Because I asked the maid to do it."
Jungkook was surprised at the incorrect move of his senior which might cost them the authenticity of the case.

"But that's wrong! It shouldn't be cleaned, the case hasn't reached the court yet." Jungkook said with knitted brows.
"Are you trying to act too smart, Jeon? Don't forget I'm your senior." The other sent out his warning in a venomous tone.

Shrugging off the man's baseless reasoning, Jungkook slipped on his gloves and started looking around the place. The white couch still had some blood stains at the edge for which Sung-ho already submitted samples to the forensic department. The coffee table being at a fair distance from the couch, arose doubt in the senior officer's mind. Usually, a coffee table is placed in such a distance from the couch that people sitting on it would be able to reach for placing their cups.

The next thing he noticed was a clean carpet after inspecting which he found no trace of blood or suspicious item.
"Sung-ho shi, was the carpet here yesterday too?"
"Yes, there's nothing in the carpet. I already checked it." Sung-ho scowled at the other for being so nosy of his investigation process.

As Sung-ho got himself engaged to talking to the manager of Kun-woo who was called by the police themselves, Jungkook tried to move the couch by himself. It had a high quality wooden structure that made it way heavier than Jungkook thought it would be. With a lot of effort and strength, he finally managed to move it few inches.

Crouching down, Jungkook lowered his body to press his ear against the cold tile of the floor to check the floor beneath the couch. A small piece of something was spotted. He extended his arm to pull that thing out. It looked like a rectangular piece of light blue coloured satin silk fabric. The uneven sides proved its torn from something, but the intact hem stitches along the upper and lower length hinted of it being part of a ribbon like thing.

There was no other evidence found under the couch, so he put the ribbon piece in a forensic pouch and left the place. It was submitted to Bin who sent it to the forensics and thanked Jungkook for finding such an intricate detail earning some disappointment from Sung-ho.

It was almost 7 in the evening and Jungkook changed into his casual clothes before driving off from the bureau. Being in this profession he needs to take care of his fitness and health, so eating out two days in a row would be breaking the rules. On the other hand, the extreme urge to bump into the handsome stranger consumed his health conscious mind. Maybe a glass of soda won't harm with the excuse of which he can check if Namjoon was visiting the burger joint today.

To his dismay, there was no sign of Kim Namjoon in the vicinity as he expected. Sipping on the paper glass of soda, he went back home downhearted.
