Wangji's steady footsteps echoed through the quiet streets of Caiyi Town.
The rain continued to pour from the dark clouds above, casting a somber atmosphere over the deserted streets.
The town seemed to be in a state of hushed tranquility, with only a few souls braving the inclement weather.
With an umbrella in hand, Wangji walked with a determined purpose, his destination set on reaching Yunmeng.
Thoughts of his beloved, consumed his mind, filling every crevice of his thoughts.
The memory of Wuxian's infectious smile and laughter, along with his captivating face, lingered in Wangji's heart.
He couldn't deny that what Wuxian stirred within him was anything but ordinary.
The intensity of his feelings for Wuxian left Wangji yearning for more.
It was as if Wuxian had become a drug, a necessity that he craved with every passing day.
The more time that separated them, the more Wangji felt his sanity slipping away.
He needed Wuxian to stay grounded, to keep his mind from spiraling into madness.
As Wangji continued his journey, his steps came to a sudden halt upon reaching the entrance of Caiyi.
A sense of danger tingled in the air, causing him to tense.
He surveyed his surroundings, his keen eyes catching sight of paper money fluttering down from above.
The voices of resentment filled the air, carrying the weight of a message.
Wangji shook his head in disbelief. Jin Guangshan, the cunning and power-hungry man, wouldn't let an opportunity slip by without making his presence known.
This was his way of sending a message to Wangji, a warning that he now possessed the Yin Iron, a source of immense power that could potentially allow him to dominate the cultivation world.
In a swift motion, Wangji sidestepped, narrowly avoiding a blade that had been aimed at him.
Reacting with lightning speed, he unsheathed his sword and sent it flying towards the attacker.
A groan of pain escaped the assailant's lips as the sword found its mark, only to return to Wangji's grasp moments later.
It was then that he realized he was surrounded by a group of assassins.
A smirk tugged at the corners of Wangji's lips.
Perhaps this unexpected encounter presented an opportunity to rid himself of some of Jin Guangshan's lackeys and reinvigorate himself in the process.
After all, what harm could it do to eliminate a few of Jin Guangshan's dogs?
Wangji tightened his grip on his sword, his resolve unwavering.
