"Look Willow, yes shooting on The Budapest Springs has wrapped but contractually... well your still the producer's puppet," My manager Keeley spoke in a hush tone, as if she couldn't quite get the words out. She had a cute edge bob that stroked slightly at her chin. A people pleaser in and out.
"Yes Keeley, this isn't my first rodeo, I'm guessing in a few months I will have to go on a PR tour, but I'm free for a few months," I responded. I loved the script and my character but boy was I happy to be back in the UK after four months in Hungary. This was going to be my first serious lead role, finally I wouldn't be that child star that everyone had posters of. I was a serious actress. Yes, my co star, Jacob Elordi was an ass but as soon as the director called cut, I would vacate any space between us.
"I think they want something more than your average press tour," Keeley kept her head down and twiddled her thumbs.
"A toy line? Clothes... just tell me Keeley god dammit." I begged.
"Well you must know, you read your full contract right?" Keeley asked. She sat down on her desk chair. I didn't have to answer, I never read contracts but that's what she was there for.
"Ok, look, casting you was a big risk for the producers and well, as your not a big enough name to bring people into the theatre, they need something else to sell tickets," Keeley breathed.
"They want me to leak a sex tape?" I cheekily asked, purposefully trying to piss her off. She was a woman who took herself very seriously.
"No, they want a possible headline to bring them in, a possible dating rumour. And before you say anything, you are obligated by contract," Keeley placed her head in her hands. "They want you to fake a relationship with your costar,"
"No.. no that's not fair... not him," I muttered. "How good's my lawyer?"
"Not good enough, there's nothing you can do,"
"Well.... shit then,"

I was an actress, this would just be a way to better my craft. Yes, I was currently at arrivals of Heathrow Airport, waiting for my new fake boyfriend to land and pose for some organised paparazzi photos. I tried for days to negotiate, but it was useless. Either I did as they asked, imprison myself by the side of most eligible bachelor and asshole Jacob Elordi, or they'd shelf the film I'd spent months on and get blacklisted from the industry.
His flight from Sydney was on the board and displayed to have landed 20 minutes prior. A car awaited outside for us to make a getaway. I was wearing an outfit picked by my stylist, way too chic for the airport, but this would make headlines. Any second now he would walk out those doors and then it begins, 6 months stuck lying to the world.
I turn around to look at the time and I drop my phone. I crouch down to get it and when I return to my feet there he is, red suitcase trailing behind him. I forgot how bloody tall he was, what did his parents feed him when he was young? And so the act began.
He looked up from his phone and for a second I can see in his eye how much he didn't want to be hear. Then he sprung into place. Arms wide, beckoning me to jump into his arms.
"Oh god," I whisper under my breath before skipping over to him. When a foot way, I jumped wrapping my legs around his waist.
"Don't get too excited Willow May," he breathed into my ear. My face, luckily away from the cameras screwed up. " These joggers are new, don't get them wet.". I jumped down, sneakily jabbing him in the core. It was hard and ultimately did nothing.
"You're going to make this hell aren't you," I seethed. Jacob bent over and picked up his suitcase and put out his hand for me to hold.
"Oh I absolutely plan on it," he laughs. I turn and grab his hand, leading him towards the car as men with cameras took pictures. So far, this was all working.
He towered over me and his hand felt rough against mine. He wore grey joggers, which usually were my weakness but on him just felt wrong, on top he wore a grey hoodie. In my brain, I began a countdown to when I could let go of his hand.
We reached the car and Jacob opened up the door for me as the driver put away his bag. "My lady," he scoffed as I got in. I let go, the contact was broken finally. As I sat down, Jacob closed the car door and made his way around the other side of the car. I looked in the reflection of my phone and I was red and clammy.
Jacob opened the car door and sat down next to me.
"Now keep smiling," I say through gritted teeth. The driver started the engine and we were off. My face hurts from smiling but soon we are up and away. My face returns to neutral.
"Thank fuck," Jacob sighs, leaning back into the seat. He turns to me, and rolls his eyes. " You weren't too bad, but as always your character isn't believable," He gets out his phone and his airpods.
"You always have something to say, don't you?" I place the side of my head on the window, the glass cooled me. I roll my eyes. Jacob turned his body away too. I got out my phone.
Keeley
Is J.E in the car?
Willow
Yes, sadly, where is this car even taking us?
I can see Keeley's typing icon as I glance over to Jacob, who was swiping few Tinder. He had been in London less than an hour and he was already on the prowl.
My phone buzzed.
Keeley
Okay, I may have left some things out, the studio is renting an apartment near Hampstead Heath for the two of you. Two bedrooms and bathrooms do not worry!
I sighed and plugged in my headphones. In my head this couldn't get worse. 6 months with him, under the same bloody roof. This had to be a mistake but boy would this put me on the map even more than already. After this I could probably get any role I wanted. This was a sacrifice I had to make to be taken seriously.
Jacob taps at my shoulder. I remove one headphone.
"Yes?" I say, looking him hard in the eye.
"Did you change your hair, I could have swarn you were blonde?" He ask, grin on his mouth.
I sigh. "That was a wig for the film, you knew that," What was he getting at?
"Ah well," He turns back around. "You looked way better blonde. Almost hot some might say," He laughs. "A very small some,". His Australian accent went through my brain like honey yet his words rubbed me like gravel. All I wanted to do was get out of this bloody car.
