August 5, 2005
                            (6 years later)

It had been a hot summer day in District 4, the city of Titan. The sun was shining , the birds chirping and the busy streets were crowded with cars trying to go places.

She had been left alone for days once again, but it hadn't been anything unordinary for her. She ran to the kitchen, grabbing a bowl and spoon from the sink. She placed them both on the counter before opening the fridge and grabbing the almost empty gallon of milk. She then climbed into the chair as she grabbed the box of cereal and began pouring spilling some onto the counter as she did. Next she poured the rest of the milk and ate the her cereal happily by herself.

Once she was finished she watched through the window at the newly built bird house that hung on the porch, attracting a few birds, it had been bright pink and covered in colorful glitter.

The sound of the mail slot opening caught her attention as mail piled onto the floor near the door. She walked over towards the door and picked up one of the few envelopes. They all read the same name, a name she knew but didn't know how to read yet she only recognized the last name because she shared it.

Next she found the remote in between the couch cushions and tuned on the tv. She scrolled through the channels one by one until she found one she was familiar with. She watched television until the sun began to set and eventually fell asleep there.

She yawned as she stretched awake just in time to hear the sound of keys rattling at the door. She jumped up from the couch and ran to the door. She jumped up and down as she waited impatiently for the door to open. The door opened slowly and before he could even step inside, she was in his arms.

"Daddy! You're home!" She exclaimed excitedly and the Hunter Killian Moore had never felt more welcome, more at home than when he was with her.

"I'm sorry, was I away too long?" he began as he lifted the girl off her feet and the girl nodded with a pout.

"You should stay home more." She said as she hugged his neck.

"Yes I should, and I will." The girl frowned at him. He always said the same thing when he returned from a trip and still left eventually. "Alora," He started as he noticed the girl's frown. "You know what I do is very important." Yes, so he's said. "I leave to protect a lot of people, including you." He said closing the door behind him.

"How?" She asked.

"Because by leaving I'm doing my job and making the city safer. By doing that I keep you safe and that's all that matters to me." She explained and she sighed before nodding.

"But, daddy why do all the vampires have to die?" She questioned with those innocent multicolored eyes.

"We've been over this." He sighed. "They're not good, they hurt people."

"But I'm a vampire too..." she whispered. "Will you kill me too?"

"Of course not. you're nothing like them, you hear me?" Killian stated as he planted a kiss on the girl's forehead. He set her back onto her feet as he hung his keys onto the key rack beside him. His gaze drifted around the messy house as his daughter stood in front of him expectantly with her hands out. Killian smiled, almost forgetting the bag in his hand. He reached into the bag and pulled out a brown stuffed bear. The girl gasped and reached for it excitedly, her father had always brought her gifts after he got back from a long trip.

She hugged the bear tightly before looking up at her father.

"Thank you, daddy. Thank you sooo much."

"You're very welcome." He said as he placed his large hand atop her head as he walked passed and into the messy kitchen.

About an hour passed and the house was clean. He flopped down on the couch beside his sleeping daughter. He pulled her close and gazed down at her sleeping form. She had been the exact replica of her mother and whenever he looked at her he remembered the vampire girl and her sacrifice. That night when everything came crashing down and the plan became something else. Find a safe place for the child. He had done that or so he believed he had, they were in district 4 it had been one of the safest districts.

The girl was safe and she would stay that way as long as she stayed in the house he had bought just for them. He had gotten the child to safety as Aurelia wanted and he would continue to protect her at all costs for Aurelia and because he had come to care for the girl more than he ever thought possible and though they shared no blood he truly thought of her as his daughter and loved her just like one.

Alora was the only thing that mattered to him now, he'd protect her with his life if need be and he wouldn't let anyone harm her. So she would stay in the house for the rest of her life or until every vampire on the earth was vanquished and it was safe for her to leave, but until then he couldn't ensure her safety.

He truly wanted better for his daughter, she deserved to live her life and be free but it wasn't possible... not yet anyway.
