it had been seven years. seven years since {y/n} had lost their soul, sold it to the most gut wrenching situation anyone could ever ask for. {y/n} never ask for this, any of this.
they had just made it back to the hotel after a painfully long day at 'work'. it could honestly be a joke to call at work or a job. {y/n} was barely paid anything, if they weren't staying at the hotel they would definitely be on the streets by now, which in hell was never a good place to be.
{y/n} weakly pushed open the large entrance doors and scuffed their feet along the floor; they had a huge migraine, even the dimly lit chandelier in the lobby felt like a piercing bullet in their skull.
they sulked their way over to the satin coloured couches and slumped down onto the pillowed furniture. it so everyone that would be in {y/n}'s sight had already gone to their rooms and were either asleep or getting ready to be.
{y/n} checked around them just to double check no one was there. they still saw no one. it was a weird feeling, they were alone. it was comforting but sad.
the feeling of sheer silence pierced into {y/n}'s gut, giving them a heart-sinking feeling of solitude. it was nice but lonely, oh so very lonely and quiet.
{y/n} took a deep and sharp inhale through clenched teeth, even forcing the breath into their mouth proved to be difficult.
they let a groan leave their lips, wincing and rubbing the sides of their head in a mix between a painful and frustrated way. they were sore everywhere, their limbs felt completely torn from the inside out.
they gently laid their painful head onto the arm of the couch, their {h/c} hair sprawled and spread about in chunks and strands, adorning the material of the couch. they laid their body down and kicked their legs up onto the plush pillow.
on the way up their legs managed to catch a nearby table with a few empty glasses and mugs scattered around, falling to the floor with a sound that can be described no other way than a deafening shatter as the china and flimsy glass fractured with the contact of the ground.
{y/n} recoiled backwards as the noise reached their eardrums. they cover that is and waited for the cluttering to see its attack on their already painful headache.
they sat back up again despite the agonising surges of ache through their body.
{y/n} rested their head in their palms, tears were starting to break their eyes, threatening to spill from their {e/c} eyes and fall down their face.
just as they were about to shed the newly formed salty tears, they heard a small creak from the old wood on the stairs that they had always recognised so well for some reason.
{y/n} white that eyes on their wrist before plastering a small smile on their face and flipping around to face the stairs where someone was now stood.
the blonde headed princess of hell stood, a pale hand on the railing and a concerned look painting her face. her eyebrows furrowed into the bridge of her nose.
as much is she tried to be positive, seeing {y/n} like this would make even the happiest angel have even the slightest bit of sorrowful sympathy for the poor sinner.
charlie sighed and gave {y/n} a small smile, "heyy- are you okay?"
she knew it was a silly question but sometimes that was all someone needed. it was stupid but just that simple gesture of a smile and a simple question caused the hottest to stream down {y/n}'s face.
charlie gave them a sympathetic grin and walked herself over to the couch {y/n} was laid on and sat the opposite end to them.
charlie put a gentle hand on their shoulder.
"listen, i know things are tough, but it'll be ok, i promise."
charlie gave them a toothy grin as her red rounded cheeks curved upwards with her infectious grin.
it was cheesy but {y/n} couldn't help but smile back at the blonde demon.
they sat up so they were more next to charlie rather than a floppy mess next to her.
"there, isn't that so much better?"
charlie asked rhetorically, returning to her usually overly positive demeanor.
"now come on, let's get you to bed, you can't have you missing our morning exercises."
she winked playfully. the to then retreated back to {y/n}'s room.
{y/n} sighed and looked around their room. they still needed to decorate it even if it had been a few months staying at the hotel.
the overall aesthetic of the room was a dark reddish colour, matching the couches downstairs.
{y/n} wandered into their room and slumped down on the plush cranberry coloured bed.
charlie let out a small giggle at the sinners intense wanting to get into bed. even if {y/n} didn't give away much, charlie knew that they were exhausted, it wasn't exactly hard to guess.
she gave the sleep deprived demon a sympathetic, yet cheerful, smile. she turned out the light and began to shut the matching red door.
"goodnight {y/n}, we all love you, don't forget that"
she said trying to keep her voice down as much as humanly possible for charlie.
{y/n} gave her a small nod before grinning and fluttering their eyes shut to get the much needed slumber that they deserved.
