"We need to get a move on with the plan and soon, they're going to move the stone again." The all too familiar sound of 'Mister Boss Man's' voice would hiss, my vision a purplish-black blur once more.
"How are we supposed to get a move on with the plan when we don't even know if they're spying on us or if they've told someone else about our plans!?" A more timid voice would ask in outrage.
"You know what needs to be done, to both Y/N and the boy, things will only be more difficult if they stay in our way..." The first man would say coldly.
"I've tried on the boy already! I barely got away with it, how do you expect me to pull something like that off again with both of them?!" The second man would say in exasperation.
"There are plenty of ways! You could-"
Nope, nope! I do not want to know, I would cut the conversation off from my mind before the man could go into too much detail, that was a mistake...
"They're here again!" The boss would hiss, he must have heard me, was my thinking really that loud? "So nice of you to join us Y/N, I'm afraid you're interrupting a very important conversation though..." The first man would continue.
It was you two who tried hurting Harry during his Quidditch match, wasn't it!? But know as long as I'm around, I won't let you touch him! I snapped back in response, in my mind of course.
"Yes... But then you and your little friend had to go and interrupt my partner, you really are too clever for your own good sometimes my dear, just like your mother.
My mother..? What does she have to do with this? And for your information, we know exactly who your partner is, you won't get away with this!
I could feel a flare of anger coming from the first man, and fear from the second, as he responded, "I believe your mother, in fact, has everything to do with this little communication of ours." He would hiss, taking a hold of the memories that popped into my mind at the mention of my family.
I was ready this time, ready to snap my mind to something else entirely to prevent the man from learning any more about me than he already did but it was different this time, more powerful and with it, more painful.
My brain felt like it was on fire as the man dug through my memories, the snowball fight and opening Christmas presents, he would linger on that memory from a few days ago as I fought desperately against him, not wanting to reveal Harry's new secret weapon.
"What are you trying to hide, child?" He would snap, and the more I fought, the worse the burning became, I could swear I felt tears rolling down my cheeks during the whole ordeal.
Unfortunately for me, in an attempt not to think of our Christmas presents, it brought up a stronger memory of our conversation with Hagrid on Nicholas Flammel along with the research we had been trying to do on the mysterious wizard.
"Oh..? This may be just as good" The man would say with a laugh as he focused more energy into replaying this certain memory instead.
No... No! Stop! ...Agh... It hurts... Stop, please just stop! I would beg as white-hot pain continued to blossom in my head.
"...Y/N! Y/N! Wake up! I need to show you something-" I would gasp and jolt up right in my bed, flailing desperately to smack the hand of the person reaching for me.
"Ack! Y/N! It's just us!" Harry would exclaim as my nails dug into his hand, drawing blood, while I fought to shove them both away.
Only after taking in the blurry yet familiar faces of Harry and Ron, both peeking out from under the first boy's cloak, would I calm down, letting out a sob of relief.
