Stolas awoke with a hangover; on weekends, he would go out to clubs, possibly have sex with any demon who caught his eye, and drink his solitary away. But on this particular night, he remained at home, grieving as he looked at the photo of his Starfire.
He felt alone. Alone in the same house where he, surprisingly, still lives. The house where he'd look at the wall, wondering why his life had been so lonely. He has Octavia, but she is growing older and will not be his little girl forever. His plants kept him company. He didn't have many friends, and the majority of those he knew either pretended to like him or saw him as a walking wallet.
He divorced Stella a few months ago, and he was certain that she was not the reason he felt alone. He hated Stella in the same way that she hated him. Both demons were never in love, and he could honestly say that divorce was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
All hell broke loose after he signed the divorce papers. Most people asked him, "Why would he divorce his smoky wife?" and he would be honest enough to admit that he is gay. Regardless of how attractive or beautiful Stella was, he was never drawn to her.
He was raised mostly by himself, without a mother who cared for him, a father who was absent, or a wife who genuinely made an effort to support the family. All he could do was wait and hope that someone would love him just as much as he is willing to love them.
With a grumble, Stolas rubbed his eyes. He was too tired to consider how pathetic and depressing he is. He got off the floor where he was resting and headed to the bathroom.
He had dark circles under his eyes. His white hair was matted and he was covered in puke. He didn't remember throwing up, yet he gagged as he sniffed his clothes.
He was going to take a shower, that was certain. Given that it is Monday, Via will be with him for the entire week. He needed to clean up the mess he made and go grocery shopping.
Taking off the little clothing he had on, he got ready for the day with a hot, steamy shower.
He rubbed cream all over his skin, applied eyeliner, and preened his horns. He went on wearing a brown turtleneck, and dark, tight slacks. He needed to get ready for today. This was his week with his daughter, and he needed to be focused on her.
He made a grocery list by searching the cupboards and refrigerator for what he needed. He also wrote down his starfire's favorite energy drink.
His tail twitched nervously as he entered the shop. A few imps would approach him, some asked about Stella, while others asked about his daughter and some asked about his career plans.
But he never gave it much thought. He quit working for his father because he was tired of being a model and an advertisement for the business. He wanted a career that he was passionate about, he also wanted to make sure he could continue to provide for his daughter.
He refuses to respond to some of the questions in the most polite way possible and continues with his shopping list. However, some continued in asking him questions and demanding answers, refusing to accept no.
Despite taking deep breaths and trying to calm down, the towering, bulky imp refused to shut his mouth.
"I bet you divorce your wife 'cause she couldn't satisfy you enough,' ' The towering imp remarked, leaning over Stolas' space.
All he wanted to do was grab the milk and go on to the other aisle. Despite his furious tail movement, he attempted to keep a composed expression on his face.
"I hope you understand that I am busy right now and cannot answer further questions. My reason for divorcing my ex-wife is personal.” Stepping back from the imp, Stolas started to walk away, pushing his cart, when he felt his tail being pulled.
“Walking away from me? Such a bratty slut, aren’t you?”
"Excuse me?" With a brow raised in irritation, Stolas questioned. Although he was half succubus and could never master the charm, he was certain he never used it on this man.
“You heard what I said baby.” The man drew Stolas nearer and purred. Trying to shove the man away, Stolas protested.
“Let go of me!” Stolas pleaded, completely losing his grip on himself because he had no clue what else to do in this situation.
"Stop pushing me away. You want this, I know it". With a grunt, Stolas kicked, hit, and tried to push the man away, but he tightened his hold on him.
The man laughed as Stolas growled at him, but his laughter was only temporary as he was struck in the face, stunned, and could no longer hold Stolas.
"He said no asshole!" As he aimed his gun in the man's face, an imp who Stolas likely believed to be a few inches shorter than him.
"Whoah, man I don’t want any problems! I was just messing around."
"Messing around my ass! Either you leave or I'll blow your fucking brains out!" The imp snarled.
The imp stumbled and bolted from the aisle.
Stolas did not want to stare, but the man had saved him. He was brave and rather handsome. He had stepped in, even though it was none of his business.
“He didn’t hurt you right?”
"Oh! Thank you for saving me back there; I'm okay." Dusting off any dirt that had gotten on his clothes, he got up from the floor.
"I'm Blitz, the O is silent!" The man grinned and offered Stolas his hand, which he shook.
"What O?" Stolas was compelled to ask.
That's the spirit! We are going to get along just well! The man spoke as he softly put his arm around Stola's neck.
Little did Stolas know that his life was about to change drastically.
