"Fucking kill yourself!" Akira groaned, slamming her foot into the base of the door as she rattled the handle. "Let me in, asshole!" She yelled through the door, kicking it once more for good measure, before turning on her heel and stalking off, deeming the interaction fruitless. she pulled out her phone as she walked, but save for a few messages from friends, her notifications remained jarringly empty, despite the flurry of frantic, pissed texts she had sent to her boyfriend. Well, presumably ex-boyfriend now, but that was the least of Akira's concerns. She didn't care much for him, anyway. He was cute and nice, so what? She wasn't much one for the soppy, romantic nature that came with relationships, much less one for commitment. Evidently, he didn't feel the same way, but how was she supposed to know that a teensy fling at the bar was going to be such a heinous act?
Akira turned her phone off, slipping it into her bag. She was pretty much walking aimlessly, now. The streets were crowded, and she had no desire to return to her own house. But, the sky was turning dark, and she'd be totally screwed if she missed the final train. So she sucked it up, turning heel towards the train station, arriving just as the doors squealed open, to which she stepped inside. being as late as it was, she pretty much had free reign of her choice of seats. So she sat, idly twirling the wires of her earbuds, tilting her head back to rest it on the window behind her. she slowly let her eyes slip shut, her heel half-hanging off her foot as she relaxed.
Until the train suddenly rattled, groaning to a fast halt just short of the station. Akira groaned as her eyes shot open, adjusting herself as she looked around. Fucking assholes. Her dad would absolutely kill her if she was late, and the train had just stopped. She squinted in the new-found darkness of the train, the emergency lights barely bright enough to illuminate the space in front of her. Surely, someone would come and tell her what the hell was going on soon, right?
So she waited, sitting down in the hard plastic seat, one leg deftly rested over the other. And she waited, anxiously walking around the train car, fingers trailing along the smooth wall. And she waited, until it dawned on her. Akira Mitsumi was well and truly alone in this train.
She grabbed her bag, stalking to the front of the train, steps fueled with unneeded aggression as she checked each and every car. Not one single person remained. Not one single person was sitting in the train car. No businessmen, sat on hushed phone calls. No Mothers, bouncing a bawling baby on her knee. Hell, it didn't seem like there was even a driver on this godforsaken train! Was she dreaming? No, no, she hadn't fallen asleep. probably. She had never fallen asleep on the train before, so why would it have changed?
The sky was unnaturally clear, she noted, peering out the little train window. She lifted her leg up, resting her hand on her heel. It would be pretty cool, to get to bust out of a train. She wondered if she could pry open the train doors with the heel of her shoe, or maybe even kick the door itself in. Akira liked that thought. It was pretty badass. But those steel doors looked pretty solid, and her heels were pretty expensive. Akira huffed, pulling the emergency button, letting the train doors rattle open on their own, neatly hopping down onto the ground, turning to look back at the train, sticking her tounge out at it- her own little way of getting revenge, she supposed.
She began to walk down the train tracks, toying with the thought of alerting someone to the issue of the mysterious train. It would probably cause a crash if she didn't. But, who would she even ask? Finding it out would be way too much effort. If someone asked, she'd explain. easy enough.
That idea was short-lived, however. as she found the train station completely deserted. the lights were all out, and Akira couldn't see a single soul. Her eyebrows furrowed, as she tried to come up with a logical explanation. an emergency alert she just hadn't received? No, then how could everyone on the train have disappeared.
"..Hello?" She called, tilting her head as her steps echoed through the empty station. No response. Great. "Anyone there?" she repeated, yet only heard her own voice, bouncing back at her. How was there absolutely nobody around? Akira was never really one to get scared easily, yet this definitely had her unnerved.
