Beware of the Mysterious Crumb

First and Last Chapter

My boss had me take this case about a murder scene. I walk into the building.

People are looking scared of why I am there. I put caution tape around everything. Even the elderly lady in the corner...she can't move anymore because she has so much caution tape around her. I can't help it.

She's a suspect, plus I have to caution the police that she's there when they come to get the dead body out of the room. I take out my awesome looking neon flags and flag anything, I mean anything that looks suspicious.

There was this crumb and it was like, out of this world suspicious! So I flagged it. I'm such a good detective.

I saw a pool of blood and a knife, but I didn't see any reason for that as evidence. I thought this crumb was all I needed.

Although as I was searching for more evidence i found this guy in the upstairs closet. I asked him what he was doing there.

He said "I murdered the person downstairs." I straightened out my uniform and looked down at this man.

"Why would you do that?" I ask.

"I felt like it" the man said. I could see his clothes drenched in blood.

"Okay then. Have a nice day sir." I said and shut the closet.

I took out a sticky note marked the closet as: already looked over.

Then I made my way to the bathroom. The towel in there was beyond suspicious! I marked it as evidence of the murder. Once the day was done I went back to my boss and proudly told him I had solved they mystery. "Great! Who was it?"

Shaking I say "no sir, you mean what was it." I correct him.

"Uh...okay. What was it?" He asked confused.

"I have concluded that it was the crumb who committed the murder!" I say raising a bag with the crumb on it.

"Seriously?" My boss asked.

"I know right. It was a tough decision between the crumb and the towel in the bathroom" I shook my head. "Just couldn't decide. So I took what looked more suspicious and came out with this." I smiled.

"You're fired." He said.

"Silly I'm not on fire. See you tomorrow." I said walking out of the station.
