Travis's POV

I wake up to the worst headache of my life. I reluctantly open my eyes and see the bright living room surrounding me, this was hard to adjust to since my eyes were used to waking up in our dark bedroom.

I move my arm to get up but feel something clinging onto me. I look down to see Taylor sleeping soundly tucked into my side.

I kiss the top of her head and she stirs awake. "Aw shit.. Why the fuck is it so bright?" She says.

"I dunno Tay, how come we fell asleep downstairs last night?" I ask her genuinely curious.

"Because a certain man got wildly drunk and had to get 3 other 6' foot men to carry him to the car whilst his wife drove him home, magically got him inside, took off his suit and put him into pajamas." She says while standing up next to me.

"I'm seriously surprised that ur not still absolutely wasted right now Trav, you drank so much." She says wrapping her arms around my torso.

When she says that something in my mind snaps. I'm no alcoholic but I do tend to drink more than the normal person should. I know Taylor has never said anything negative about it but I feel like I shouldn't be doing this to her, she shouldn't be having to take care of me drunk. From this day moving forward I'm going sober. For her.

I laugh and return her hug and we stay there for a little while before deciding on getting breakfast. We cook up some eggs, bacon, and hash browns and fold them into breakfast burritos. I take some fruit out of the fridge and put it in a bowl and place it in front of us at the island.

We both walk around the island and sit down at the barstools. We talk about the previous night and all the people she met and talked to. Then she told me about what I did in my non-sober state of mind. She laughs harder the farther she gets into the story until she's on the floor in tears about how I tripped over a speaker and almost brought myself and the 3 guys carrying me, down into the pool.

I burry my face in my hands and groan. I felt embarrassed for myself even if everyone thought it was funny. "Oh my goodness Tay, I have so many apologies due!"

"I'm never drinking again I swear." Little did she know that statement was true. I never tasted a drop of alcohol, Even till my day of death, July 7th 2072.
I made it pretty far for being an NFL player. Taylor passed away in my arms just a few weeks prior to my passing. We both died peacefully as it was our time to go. But enough with the death talk. All I know is that in this moment I'm sitting next to the woman I really did spend the rest of my life with.

We finish our breakfast and I go to load our dirty dishes into the dishwasher while Taylor checks to see if we have anything on our schedules today. "Travis get ready! It looks like we have a free day for once!" She yells to me from the other room.

"No way!" I say back in shock. We used to get free days every so often but this past month has been so quick paced that we never had a chill day. We never got to sit still for more than a new hours and while we were using that time, we were either working / responding to emails or making up for lost time in the bedroom.

"Come on." Taylor says turning and running up the stairs. I chase after her, leading us into our bedroom. She jumps onto the bed and pulls herself under the blankets. The room is pretty dark but not dark enough to where I can't see her pretty face.

I follow behind her getting in next to her. I cuddle into her left side, resting my head on her chest and my hand landing on her stomach.

She places her left hand on my shoulder and rubs circles with her thumbs. She reaches over with her right arm and grabs the remote to the tv. She flips to Netflix and turns on our favorite show at the moment. National Geographic. Something about it is just so calming.

She lowers the volume and takes her right hand to hold my face. She shifts lower so we're now both laying down and she leans her head over to rest it on top of mine. We both drift off into a deep sleep. We were both still tired from last night, we got home about 2am - according to Taylor. We woke up around 6:30. I wouldn't have gotten up if I saw Taylor beside me.

This was just a super short chapter as a follow up to the previous one. I thought this was cute but definitely not one of my favorites.

Unpopular opinion but I hate using the Oxford comma... it just doesn't make sense in my mine but I still use it because I know sometimes it pisses off the grammar police when I don't. lol
