*Dreaming*

"This is your third foster home when are you going to learn to grow up?"
"As soon as I go back home"
"I assume never then"

The alarm blared at 8:00 am as usual and I didn't want to get out of bed as usual. But I guess the shop isn't gonna open itself. I rose out of bed the back of my head was matted with black curls. I shook them out and started to lay out my clothes for the day.Okay black skirt, black sport bra, with white magnolia flowers, and my white platform sneakers I thought to myself as I laid my clothes out. I started the shower and looked out to the balcony seeing the sun shine down on Hell's Kitchen and on my dark skin. Here I go again I thought.

I came above ground from the train station and headed down the street. "Hey Z!" I heard a man's voice say from behind me. I turned around there was Johnny wearing the same clothes dirt across his face and on his clothes but what can you expect from someone who's homeless.
"Hey Johnny how you been?"
"Good good I'm trying"
"That's go-"
He was lying to me the way he was shaking I knew he was on that stuff again. He couldn't stand still scratching his arms.
"I know you're lying"
"I guess you always do"
"Yup"
I reached into my leather backpack and handed him a sandwich I made for him as usual. I've known Johnny for so long he was just someone who got into some bad investments and life decided to beat him some more when is family left him.
"Thanks Z"
"No problem. Stay safe."
"I'll try"
I continued down the street till I got to the shop unlocking the door and turning on the lights. I began to set up the flowers and turn on the radio. "Yoga" by Janelle Monae played making me put a pep in my step a little. After I started to set up all the flowers outside the shop I heard a unfamiliar voice. I usually know all the business owners on the block from Ronnie the hot dog vendor to Jenny who owned the bagel shop. The man had blonde hair and was a little chunky wearing a suit talking on the phone. He headed into the old small office building across the street. I assumed that he was going to buy the vacant space inside but why would someone who looked professional like him buy a rinky dink office space. Must be knew then. Hell's Kitchen ain't the place for whatever he's got going on.

I sat behind the register ringing up the man's bouquet of long stem roses handing him back his change."Thank you have a nice day" I said but he was miles away. There were two types of people in this world when it comes to me: the people who stare at the flowers in my hair and the people who stare at the scar going across my eye and face. And he was wasn't exactly staring at my flowers "Sir?" I said startling him back to reality "Oh I'm sorry thank you." He replied taking his change and leaving. I turned away from the register and leaned over the counter reading the newspaper. The headline read "Hell's Kitchen Vixen Strikes Again." Tap tap. As I started to read the article I heard a tap at my glass entrance door. Before I could turn around the man was inside looking straight not even acknowledging me. He wore a suit with dark burgundy round shades. He was white with dark brown hair and little over 6'0 feet. "Sir can I help you?" I said he turned his head to me quickly but didn't exactly look into my eyes but past me.
"Why yes I'm looking for the owner"
"Oh I'm the owner"
I walked from behind the counter and noticed that he held a white stick with a red strip at the end of it. Oh shit he's blind.
"Hello I'm Matt Murdock. My associate and I just bought the office space across the street"
"Oh I'm Ziana Wilde. Welcome to the neighborhood. So what are you guys using the space for?"
"We're starting our own law firm"
"Oh"
He stood proud of what he was doing and looked like he knew what he was doing as well. Thankfully he couldn't see my facial expressions.
"So Ms. Wilde what kind of business do you own here?"
"Please call me Ziana or Z. No Miss I'm 25 not 55."
"Sorry"
His giggle was cute can't exactly lie about that. He had a good smile too he was a adorable thing but the whole "blind lawyer" thing still had me puzzled.
"Well Matt I sell flowers and other plants"
"Oh really? I thought that sweet smell was you"
"Nice one and thank you"
He is really something else but he needs to slow his roll just a little. But hey it's a compliment of course I'm gonna accept it.
"It was very nice meeting you Ziana"
"Likewise. But wait"
I headed to the bouquet of roses and broke off one from it's stem. I walked back to Matt and placed it in his suit pocket.
"If you're gonna be a lawyer at least be a spiffy one. Trust me flowers can make or break a lot of outfits"
"Ha thank you Ziana"
He felt around for the door knob and turned it open making the bell above the door ring. New people new problems. I guess I gotta meet with Honey now.
