AHHHHHH
Its school.
Sorry the thought of school just terifies me.
I wish I lived in America. No stupid uniforms, and definitely no morning battles with magpies.
So, my alarm starts blaring, and I roll out of bed like a zombie. It's the same routine every day: grab my hoodie, slip into my cozy Batman pajama pants, and contemplate faking sick to skip school. But then I remember it's PE, and we're playing footy today, and I can't miss that for the world.I walk down stairs to mum, she's cooking some toast and poached eggs for me.
Downstairs, Mom's cooking up some toast and poached eggs. She asks why I look like I got hit by a truck.
"Because I have to go to school" I say rolling my eyes
"I thought you loved school" mum says
"Yeah, sure. Drama's fun, hanging with friends is cool, but the learning? Not so much," I admit, laughing
She gives me that "you'll fail if you don't learn" spiel, and I just nod along, knowing I'll probably wing it like always.
"yeah yeah sure"
I grab my toast and run back up stairs, I get out my teal blue button up shirt with the ugly school logo on it and my grey skirt. after I put them on I roll up my skit twice, I know I sound like a slut but not going to lie I am one. if I don't roll my skirt up I look like a nerd, and I also know that's rude but in reality its true. i put on my black air force 1s, yes they are gang shoes but there like the only shoes that go with my uniform, im not going to wear those funky formal shoes.
Sitting at my desk, I ditch the heavy makeup for just some mascara. My skin's behaving today, so why not flaunt it?
The rest of me gets ready for the day.
"I'm going," I say to Mom, giving her a quick wave before darting into Dad's cluttered office.
"Bye, Dad," I call out, barely stopping as I make my way to the door.
"See you later, sweets," he replies absentmindedly, buried in his paperwork.
With my AirPods already snug in my ears, I cue up the Lover album and let Taylor Swift's melodies drown out the mundanity of the morning. As I step outside, the crisp air greets me, promising another day of teenage trials and tribulations.
The walk to the bus stop feels longer than usual today, stretching out for what seems like miles. I pass by the local pool, where the early morning swimmers are already making waves, a stark contrast to the sluggishness that seems to grip me.
Finally, the bus comes into view, a welcome sight amidst the monotony of the morning routine. I hop on board, immediately gravitating toward the back where Shardi, Conner, Amy, and the rest of the crew are already settled in.
As I make my way down the aisle, there's this one kid, who always seems to have something to say. Today is no different, as his wolf whistle pierces through the hum of conversation. I roll my eyes, brushing off his comment as I take my seat.
"Maybe if your skirt wasn't so short, that wouldn't happen all the time," Luke quips, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Maybe if your brain wasn't so fried, you wouldn't be failing school," I retort, earning a round of laughter from my friends.
"Shut up, Indiana," Luke grumbles, clearly annoyed.
"You shut up, Lucas," I shoot back, the banter flowing effortlessly.
"Blah blah blah," he mutters, clearly defeated.
As the bus rumbles to a stop at our school, we offer a chorus of thanks to the bus driver before piling out onto the sidewalk. Another day, another adventure awaits, and we're ready to tackle it head-on, annoying classmates and all.
We meet up with the rest of the gang who are hanging around the locker area.
"Bro look who it is poor boy and quiet boy" Luke says loud enough for Eli and Gus to hear. this is part of the reason I hate Luke. Eli gives Luke the finger and Gus just looks away from us. I punch Lukes stomach, not hard but enough for him to stop laughing at HIS OWN joke.
"Touch me there agin, I like it" Luke says smugly.
"Shut up you fucking pedo" I say rolling my eyes and walking off to other people in the group.
