Her mind screamed to get on the ship, find out what it was, be the hero of the day and save it. But, Kate knew it was risky.

She grabbed the wallet without hesitations, noting its heaviness. She didn't dwell on it further and ran back up the Carnival, when she saw a flashlight flickering near her position.

She already got what she was looking for.

Kate didn't feel safe even when she had her bow tucked unsubtly in the back pockets of her jeans. She felt the danger, and new added heaviness in the air as she walked briskly to her purple Vespa. She had to get out of here quickly.

The brunette wasted no time speeding through the empty wide streets of Venice Boulevard. She reached the Bishop residence in under a minute, located in Rose Avenue, beside a small restaurant. It was two stories high, less appealing but still modern enough to catch unsavory people's eyes. It was small, but it was enough for Kate and Lucky to find refuge to.

It used to belong to her Bishop ancestor, a gift from Susan as an apology for an argument that caused Kate to leave in the first place. She was grateful. At least she had a roof to stay in while she and Lucky wasted their time far away from New York.

Opening the gate with a screeching metal noise, she let her Vespa in the small space on the inside of the house's property, parking it with less rush than she had a minute ago. It was her only mode of transportation for far reaching destinations. Being rough with it wouldn't be any good.

After she was done chaining her bike, she double-checked the things on her pocket—securing the pink heavy wallet on the front basket of her Vespa.

Good, because judging from the reviews from Mikka and Quincy.

The wallet was up to no good.

Walking up the front steps, she pocketed the wallet into her other jean pocket, taking off her well-worn purple Vans and pulling out her keys with her free hand, inserting it on the keyhole. Just when she hears a click, she can hear a bark.

Despite the exhaustion from the evening's events, she can't help but grin at the sight of her baby once she opened the door.

Immediately, Lucky pounced his paws on her chest, licking happily on her face. Kate chuckled, inciting a giddy feeling on her chest, moving around with difficulty to close the door.

"I'm so happy to see you too, boy!" Kate managed to pushed him off, heading towards the couch, dropping her tired ass on it without care. Lucky immediately nuzzled in between her legs, his one good eye looking up at her adorably. "Were you a good boy while I was away? Hm?" Kate cooed, running her long fingers on Lucky's well trimmed fur.

Lucky merely panted, resting the bottom of his the outside of his mouth on her leg, looking comfortable on it.

Kate looked around, and saw that the house in tact. "That's good enough for me." She kissed his fur and let him go, but he wouldn't budge. "Aw, you're too adorable, Luck. But I have work to do."

Lucky whined and understood with the pawing in his face, having heard the word work a lot from Kate's mouth, before walking away towards the corner of the living room where his pizza bed lay. Look, Kate was willing to spend everything for her dog. He deserved it!

Looking back at the wallet, and her bow she had thrown on the coffee table. She bit her lip in thought, whether to change her clothes or open whatever it was inside that her co-workers refused to tell her.

Eventually, she decided to take a quick bath, change into a more comfortable clothes that consisted her faded blue varsity basketball jersey and black shorts. She then sat staring at the bulging pink wallet that shouldn't have been used for anything other than paper.
