"My love failed again!"

Amidst all the ongoing storms inside his head, a soft tune of email notification buzzed from his phone making him put a pin on the thoughts about Namjoon. Checking the time he realised that he's been into his own world for past 3 hours as it was almost 8 in the morning. It was an email in his personal ID and not the official one, the sender's ID was unrecognisable at first but the profile picture was clear enough.

Jungkook,

I tried calling you since we bumped into each other at the pub last month, but the number I have is saying out of service. Guess you are not using the old number anymore and I don't have your new one. No idea if this email id of yours is still in use but I would like to take the chance.

I am in no position to seek for your forgiveness yet my heart still beats for you. I have always loved you, Jungkook. It was just my fear that stopped me from pursuing you. Do you know I got married? It was a horrible marriage and the day we accidentally met was my final divorce hearing. I couldn't love my wife, neither could she. Since the first day of my married life, I knew it was you who I loved, you who I truly felt committed to.

Is there any place in your life for a friend again? I might not show the audacity to ask for love, but can I please have my friend back? I am really sorry for hurting your feelings.

Ji-ho

Jungkook's eyes burst into tears reading the mail from his first love who hurt him the most. The heartbreak would still taunt him of being incapable of finding a person who would love him but the tears weren't shed for Ji-ho. It was for the person who he mistrusted based on evidences of a cruel murder.

He doesn't want to believe in himself who befriended a criminal, he wants to vouch for the version of himself who loved a boy with all his courage. Ji-ho's email was just the activation code he needed to restore his faith on love for Namjoon. He wasn't in love with Ji-ho anymore, but reading about his feelings felt like being unfaithful to Namjoon who hasn't even accepted him as a significant other yet.

"I cannot let this happen, Namjoon."

Alike Jungkook, someone else was dawdling through the happy times spent with the person he loves. Not for a second did the eyelids took a recess from providing access to read through old messages and pictures clicked together. Most of them were from the brunch date they had two days back. His fingers were exhausted wiping off the tears from the cheeks and heart almost gave up on the term called 'love' when his phone rang up displaying Jungkook on the caller's name.

With shaking hands and trembling lips, he picked it up but no words could be uttered in response to the voice of the person at other end.
"Namjoon" Jungkook paused for a moment but not getting an answer was part of his anticipation.

"I know you are mad at me but can we please meet up? It's really really urgent, Namjoon. If you send me the address of your house I will be there shortly." The elder didn't want to bother him but receiving the call instantly and being completely silent were clues of Namjoon being extremely disappointed at his behaviour.

"What do you want to talk about?" The stammered speech broke Jungkook's heart more than anything he has found against Namjoon till now. He met a boy who seemed to enjoy solitude but the boy he has fallen in love with was a soft and gentle person who sounded like a person with an injured heart right now.

"Just give me the address, please!" He repeated the request impatiently after which Namjoon blurted it out. He quickly noted down on a piece of paper without asking the younger to repeat or send via text.
"I'll be there in 10. Just wait for me, will you?" Jungkook sighed after a soft 'okay' was heard.

He didn't need to read the address for the second time as anything related to Namjoon would be drilled into his mind. Flinging the paper in the air, he left with his phone without caring about being in civil dress while his work shift would be starting in next few minutes.

Walking like a zombie, Namjoon reached the washroom to splash some water on his face. He got frightened at his own swelled up eyes and red nose but placed a hand on his chest mumbling positive words of Jungkook coming to see him. He ran out to pick up the incoming call that just started ringing. Dashing his way out of the room, he opened the front door to find a man with messy hair and red eyes reflecting traces of tears. The clothes were same as from last evening.

Without a word, Namjoon ran towards him throwing his arms around Jungkook's neck who pulled him closer by the waist. Breaking down in his arms, he muttered "Why did you leave me there alone?"
"I needed to be somewhere and I'm sorry." Sniffles and complaints followed thereafter but Jungkook knew he was running out of time. Rubbing the younger's back he backed him away with his hands still on the other's waist.

"I am going to ask you some questions and you need to answer them very carefully, Namjoon. Understood?" Jungkook asked lifting his right hand to wipe off younger's cheeks.
"What is it about?" Namjoon asked trying to stop the stream of water flowing down his face.
"Do you by any chance happen to know someone by the name of Lee Byeol?"

"Hands up in the air, Kim Namjoon!"

Jungkook turned back to find Sung-ho along with some junior officers holding a gun in Namjoon's direction with a pair of hand-cuffs hanging from his uniform pocket.
