How to create a floating family tree or member?
· First open your ancestry family tree by clicking on the tree option from the menu.
· To add the person to your family tree click on the member in which you want to add a person.
· Here, we will show you adding Shelly Barbar's mother. So we just click on the add mother option given just near Shelly Barbar.
· As you click on the add mother option, a right sidebar will be visible.
· Enter all the details that you have about Shelly's mother like name, living status, birthplace, and so on.
· After entering the details just click on the save button. And your member will be added.
· Now go to family view and edit relationship. Remove the relationship and copy the URL. Click on view family tree the tree that you will show is a floating family tree or floating family member. This is how you can create a floating family tree.
· Open the home page of your family tree and paste the copy url by selecting add weblinks.
How to search for floating tree or members?
· Go to the main tree and click on the find in tree option given in the top right corner.
· Enter the name of the person and it's done.
· Apart from this, you can also search by custom tag.
How to link family trees to the ancestry main tree?
To link a floating family tree or floating family members to the main tree first open the floating member and click on add relationships.
Choose from the tree, enter the name of the floating member, and click on the save button. And it's done. This is how you can easily link a floating member or tree to the main tree.
