In the moments before the school bell rang, four girls sat in a cluster in their homeroom, each one lost in an activity that seemed to match her personality perfectly. Saki sat at her desk, silver gaze fixed on the window, a gentle smile playing on her lips.

"Isn't the sunrise beautiful today?" she murmured, more to herself than to anyone else. The colors were truly spectacular! But her friends and unit-mates, who were always so quick and willing to humor her and talk about her interests, agreed.

Ibuki, the embodiment of an overachiever, sat beside her, posture impeccable as always as she flipped through her planner for the day. On top of schoolwork, she had track practice to run, and a student council meeting to lead! "It's a new day, and I intend to conquer it!" she declared, her voice brimming with confidence. She even flexed her arm, earning an admiring gasp from Saki, and a chuckle from Towa.

Noa, the resident nerd, was engrossed in her textbook, her reading glasses perched precariously on her nose. She didn't even seem to hear Ibuki in front of her. Instead, her iridescent eyes were alight behind their lenses as her finger skimmed the pages of her... math book.

"Did you know that the Fibonacci sequence appears in nature more often than you'd think?" she asked excitedly.

Towa only laughed again, but this time with a little more scoff. "Didn't finish your homework, Noa?"

"What?! Yes I did!" Finally, Noa's attention was ripped away from her reading. "I'm getting ahead for today's class!"

"Of course you would," Towa shook her head in disbelief, expression becoming exasperated.

"You could learn a thing or two from her, Towa," Ibuki chuckled lowly. While Noa's posture was impeccable like hers, Towa was slouched back in her seat, as if she was trying to turn it into a recliner.

"She's not the teacher!" Towa groaned, sinking even deeper into her school chair. Ah, what she wouldn't have given for a real recliner!

Noa, however, seemed not to hear Towa, instead inspired by Ibuki's idea, and refusing to be stopped. "Speaking of! By the way! Did you know that today is Pi Day?" March 14. She opened her textbook to the page about pi, but without looking at it, she rattled the definition off as if she had it memorized. Knowing her, she likely did. "Pi is an irrational number that represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It's approximately equal to 3.14159, but it goes on infinitely without repeating. It is believed to be at about 62.8 trillion digits at this point."

Saki listened with rapt attention, silver eyes wide with curiosity as she absorbed every word Noa said. Ibuki, meanwhile, smirked slightly, listening in too, but not with the same intense earnest as sweet little Saki, the team's resident "little sister".

"Pi is not just a random number," Noa continued. "It's a fundamental constant that appears in many areas of mathematics and science. For example, it's used to calculate the area and volume of circles and spheres, as well as in trigonometry to find the sine and cosine of angles."

Towa, on the other hand, slouched even deeper into her seat still, eyes glazed over with boredom. "This is so boring!" she muttered.

Undeterred, Noa pressed on, eager to share more facts about pi. "Did you know that the symbol for pi (π) was first used by Welsh mathematician William Jones in 1706? It's derived from the Greek word for perimeter. It's also on the polyamory pride flag!" she explained. Maybe Saki was happily abuzz with newfound knowledge, and Ibuki impressed at Noa's vast and natural intelligence, but Towa still seemed disappointed.

"I thought you said it was Pie Day!" she pouted.

"It is Pi Day, Towa!" Noa cried back. "Why do you think I just gave you guys that lesson on pi?"

"No, I meant like the food! I even brought a pie to school and everything, too!" Towa cried, then she leaned over to pull something out of her backpack. It was a giant lunchbox, and inside was a pie large enough for all four of them. (Knowing her, though, she was planning on keeping a whole half to herself and forcing the other three to split the other half into thirds).

"Towa!" Noa face-palmed while Ibuki made a funny face, trying and failing to hold in a laugh. Saki only went dumbfounded with surprise, then she began to laugh delicately too, trying to hide her mouth behind her hand daintily.

"Huh?" Noa was instantly snapped out of her irritation by Saki's vast and natural cuteness as she giggled, and then demurely tried to hide it. Well, if Saki was happy, then Noa was happy!

"H-hey!" Towa squawked, offended, outraged, and indignant. "Why does Saki always get a free pass?"

"Because she paid attention to my lesson!" Noa crossed her arms smugly, staring down her glasses at the smaller, fiery, blue-haired girl.

Towa wanted to keep protesting, but she knew she had nothing to go on.

"Don't feel bad, Towa, your pie is still a wonderful contribution too!" Saki flashed her a sweet, adorable smile too, and Towa couldn't help but feel her stomach flip-flop inside of her. Saki was just so innocent, pure, and precious, so to be complimented by her always felt extra special and wholesome. And Towa herself, who secretly craved the approval of the others, was more than happy to lavish in Saki's praise.

"And you call me the problem!" Noa scoffed, arms still crossed, smirk becoming a tiny frown.

"Don't worry, I loved your lesson too, Noa, I know it'll help me get closer to my dream of being an astronaut one day!" Saki gave her an awed, breathless smile, and Noa instantly melted, blubbering all over again. Even Towa finally cast her a disdainful, disgusted glance, turning her attention to the pie on her lap. She wasn't supposed to bring it out until lunchtime, but...

All the while, Ibuki could only watch silently, sighing and chuckling to herself. The Class President in her was horrified, but the leader of Photon Maiden couldn't help but smile at the antics of her beloved unit-mates.

This would make Noa happier than anything, but she forgot the most important pi/pie of all on a day like this... A Cutie Pi!

AN: TFW you randomly remember it's pi day and want to write a fic for it and realize that Towa/Noa would be perfect because pie/pi

Anyway, here have this, hope you enjoy, #NoBeta, LOL!

Also gonna say it's Poly Maiden bc the poly flag has the pi sign on it
