Pablo's POV
„Lucia? Are you ready to go?" I was tying my shoes, Xavi actually taught me after I stumbled across them in practice every now and then.
I distracted myself with my phone because Lucia took a bit longer getting ready tonight. I didn't mind, but we had to head out soon or we were late for the event.
The Barça foundation organized an event where players of the different teams from the club were invited to raise awareness for their bullying prevention program.
Lucia and I got the invitation by mail some weeks ago, meaning we can go together.
I heard my girlfriend stumble down the stairs, looking incredible in her outfit. She was dressed casually, yet still looking very professional.
„How should I not kiss you in front of everybody tonight? You look stunning." Lucia blushed in response and pulled me in a sweet kiss.
„Oops your lips are now smudged with my lip gloss." She laughed, already trying to wipe it off my lips with her thumb.
„I don't care, I just want to kiss you again." I pulled her closer by her waist, kissing her passionately.
She sighed softly, throwing her arms around my neck, trying to be even closer than we already were. I got lost in the feeling, just enjoying Lucia's sweet lips on mine. It wasn't rushed, it was a loving moment between us.
Lucia smiled against my lips after some time, breaking away to catch her breath.
„We should head out soon or we're going to be late." She whispered, this time actually getting rid of her gloss on my lips.
„Do we have to? You know I don't like those kind of events. There are too many people for my liking." I tried to persuade her, even though I knew that would be damaging my image. Additionally to that, I probably would be benched by Xavi for lying about a sickness or something.
„Can't we just tell Laporta we both got the flu? You know, I had it first and then gave it to you." I still tried but knew her answer would be no.
Lucia laughed at my offer, fixing my hair from the quick make out session.
„Hmm... and how would you explain you gave it to me? Laporta doesn't know, does he?" She grinned and grabbed her purse.
„No but Xavi does." I argued with a grimace, realizing my plan was absolute garbage.
Lucia only shook her head with a small smile, then took my hand to lead me to the car.
„C'mon amor, now we'll be late for sure. And remember keep it low-key."
---------
The car ride was mostly quiet but I could sense Lucia was nervous. Both of us didn't want her to have an attack during the event, so we discussed if she really was feeling good enough to go. Lucia then asked me to keep it more low-key tonight, which I accepted but still didn't like the idea of it. But knowing she'll get immense hate after seeing me and her together, I agreed.
Lucia lightly tapped her foot continuously, probably becoming anxious as we have arrived at the venue. Cameras were already flashing pictures of the hockey team in the meantime.
I placed my hand on her thigh, trying stop her from bouncing, to which she gave me an appreciative smile.
„It's going to be fun, I promise." but I couldn't even convince myself.
We exited the car together as it wasn't something the people hadn't seen us do already and walked over to the entry.
The football club was next to take pictures, so I said goodbye to Lucia, giving her a hug.
