Her Screams

The First Strike

It was a normal Friday night, a fun filled, happy, positive night.
Until it wasn't.
It's around 5:30 pm.
Scarlett Everlove, Stella Lovelace, Elena Gil, Jaylene Beausoliel, Adalyn Score, and Margot Night are all getting ready for a party that they're all extremely excited to go to.

"I'm so excited, this is the first party we're going to as a group!" Margot exclaims.

"I know, right? We haven't all been to a party together in a while." Scarlett agrees.

The last time they all went to a party together was in high school. It popular kids party, and they invited everyone in the group to go. They had a blast. It was one of the best parties they've been to. After that, they haven't really been too many parties together. They've all just gone separately.

"Alright, Lyt, can you help me with my hair?" Stella asks.

"Of course, mouse."

They all have nicknames for each other.
Some of Scarletts' nicknames are Lyt, Lightning Bolt, and Giraffe.
Some of Stella's are Mouse, Ella, Elle, and Stells. And some more.
Elena's is Layn.
Jaylene's is Jay or Jay Jay.
Adalyns is Ada, Addie, or Stella calls her Tiger.
Margot's is Chica.

They all have random nicknames for each other. Not a lot of them make sense.
Some do, Stella is called mouse mainly cause she's short and she's as quiet as one. Others are shortened versions.
Scarlett is tall, so she got the nickname Giraffe. Lyt is just a shortened version of Scarlett.
Layn is a shortened version of Elena that they came up with.
Jay and Jay Jay is pretty self-explanatory.
Ada and Addie is self explanatory, but Tiger is because she's pretty tough and doesn't have much care in the world.
Margot's is just because. It doesn't really make sense. She's the most popular out of the group.

They're all either in college or didn't go to college.
Stella is in college. She's studying childhood education.
Lyt is in college for Arts.
Layn is in nursing school.
Adalyn isn't going to school.
Neither is Margot. She's working as a server at a restaurant.
Jaylene is in college for Arts.

Scarlett is wearing a tight pink dress that has silver sparkling outlining certain spots of the dress.
Elena is wearing a black shiny leather buckle skirt with a cloth cropped black top.
Margot is wearing a tight, shiny leather dress.
Stella is wearing a short dark purple dress with straps that look like chains.
Adalyn is wearing a short, tight, red sparkly dress. 
And jaylene is wearing a nice black with lace dress.
They're all finishing up their hair and makeup. Full of jitters. They're all excited.

"Stella, you can stay close to me, or at least one of us. Well, all of you can, just in case." Elena said. She knows some girls in the group don't do that well with crowds, but they all wanna go have fun, so they're helping each other.

They finish getting themselves ready and head to the car, Adalyn is driving.
Margot is in the passenger seat while Scarlett and Jaylene are in the middle seats, and Stella and Elena are in the last row. Adalyn is a pretty okay driver. She speeds sometimes, but she pays attention to her surroundings good enough to get them to the party safely.

She parks in between 2 cars by the curb, the cars are trailing from the driveway, down the street, and around the corner. This is gonna be a good party.
They get out of the car and make their way to the door.
The house is beautiful, it's ginormous. It had lights flashing from its windows with music you can hear down the street. There's people going in and going out. There's people sitting outside in the front with cups in their hands while you can see the other people in the window, enjoying themselves.
The person at the door checks them in on the list, then makes their way inside. They stay close together.

"Wow, this place is very popular." Stella mumbles.

"It is, there's so many people. It's like nobody has anywhere to move." Elena says.

"They don't seem to care." Adalyn says.

They make their way to the kitchen, where they grab red cups and fill them with different kinds of drinks.
Adalyn, Margot, Scarlett, and Elena grab alcohol while Jaylene and Stella grab soda. Stella's a light weight, so she figured she'd be better off with soda instead of alcohol.
They head to the dance floor, dancing and drinking. They kinda moved away from each other on the dance floor. They didn't really realize it at first because they were starting to have a lot of fun, like they should be. They're trying to blend in with the crowd.
Margot met with the host, they danced together, drank, talked, flirted, and eventually, they went upstairs.
Lyt was dancing with this guy with fluffy dark brown hair and brown eyes named Pepper.
Adalyn was flirting with multiple people for fun.
Elena was dancing in the middle of the dance floor, having the time of her life.
Jaylene was swaying to the music on the dance floor while sipping her soda.
Stella was standing by the bar area, watching everyone and sipping her drink.
It was all going well. Everyone was having fun, and nothing could go wrong!
Until it did.

Suddenly, there were screams on the dance floor. Everyone froze.
It sounded like Scarlett and Elena and a couple of other people.
Stella tried pushing through the crowd to make it to the dance floor.
Everyone was running in the opposite direction, so it was hard for her to make it to the middle.
It was a stupid idea for her to run towards the middle, but she needed to make sure her friends were okay. Which they indeed were not.
Elena was clutching her side, which was covered in blood. It looked like she was stabbed there.
Scarlett was clutching her right arm, which had blood sliding down it from under her arm, that looked stabbed too. Scarlett has small cuts on her palms, looking like she was trying to defend herself from the knife.
All that was left behind was a mask. It looked like a ghost mask. They saw Margot running down the stairs and running to the scene, along with Adalyn and Jaylene.

"What the hell happened?!" Adalyn yelled, looking at the bloody mess.

"I don't know! We were having fun and dancing and suddenly this guy in a black costume with a ghost mask came at us with a knife!" Scarlett explained as best she could. She was breathing heavily, clutching her arm as she tried to gather her thoughts.

Elena wasn't speaking. She was crying and holding her side.
There were sirens in the background, the cops and ambulance were showing up, someone called. They were all over age, so none of them were gonna get in trouble with the drinking and such. 
The host directed the cops and ambulance to where the girls were.

"That's Scarlett Everlove, and that's Elena Gil!" Jaylene told the officers and paramedics.

The paramedics got the girls on stretchers and strapped them in. They got the girls into the back of the truck and hooked them up to stuff. The cops questioned the girls and the party goers. Nobody saw anything. They didn't even see the guy who attacked them. They did explain what the girls said the guy looked like up close, but they were the only ones who saw them. The party goers weren't paying attention till they heard screamed and the girls weren't all together, which maybe they should've stayed together.
After about 15 minutes, if questioning the officers left, the paramedics rushed the girls to the hospital.

"The one time we go to a party." Margot said.

Stella wasn't even fully there. It all happened so fast that it hadn't fully processed yet.

"We should go visit them." Jaylene said.

The girls nodded and grabbed their stuff and made their way back to the car, getting in and taking off to the hospital. Sitting in silence the whole way there.
