On the 10th September 1941 was the birth of a beautiful baby girl,

To her parents she was as precious as a white pearl,

She lay in her fluorescent pink cot,

With people saying compliments like what a pretty tot.

Next to her cot, her mother and father lay a set of red roses in line with her cute button nose.

She stood as a flash came from the camera,

As she started her first day at Grammar,

In her uniform, she stood very proud,

And her family shouted comments aloud,

With the red roses watching from the windowsill.

The wedding bells rang,

As in a sweet harmony the choir sang,

On her wedding day she held a bunch of rose flowers,

She felt like a gentle princess in her towers,

With the red roses sitting in her palms.

The beautiful sound of laughing children met her ears,

As she hugged them her eyes let off turquoise tears,

On her lap lay an adorable girl and a lovely boy

Playing with their dolls, cars and toys,

With the rose flowers watching,

Her and her husband walked their dog Rose,

They did this all the time and every time felt like;

It was just themselves, everything else froze,

They ate her favourite sandwiches filled with ham and cheese,

As on the grass they had their picnic kneeled on their knees,

With the roses waiting at home.

The church bells rang their sinful song,

They felt like it went on and on,

They all dressed in a dull black,

They all stood around the gravestone behind the flower track,

In her death bed, she lay

With the red roses on her lap, which have followed her all the way.
