He kept knocking, begging to let him see the boy but the door was not soon to be unlocked. The last time his eyes became moist was at the heartbreak caused by his first love. Ever since he joined the profession, he vowed to never let himself become weak for anyone, let alone shedding tears for. Not all vows are meant to be followed. He doesn't care if anyone labels him as a wuss because it is for the boy he loves the most in the world, the boy he can fight against the world for.

As he leaned his head on the door with closed eyes picturing the most charming face, the phone buzzed with Sung-ho's number. Ignoring it would be foolishness, so clearing the throat, he answered the call.

"Jeon, inspector Won has framed you in front of Namjoon's father for gathering evidence against his son. He only mentioned about the painting. We removed every documents of yours today, then how did he know about Namjoon's name on the painting receipt?"

The phone was held with his right hand but the left one got raised in search of the wall or something for support as Sung-ho's words forcibly took away the hope he had to let Namjoon's family meet him. No way would they allow the man who was the reason of their son's misery. The important query raised was ignored under the piles of pain and fear how would he meet the boy now.

"They won't let me see him then."
Sung-ho sigh temporarily closing his eyes at the painful broken voice of his junior.
"Listen, never tell my wife I am being a relationship coach or something. Just don't give up on your love, Jeon." Sung-ho's love for his wife was equally balanced with the fear he harboured of her but right now nothing sounded funny to Jungkook. He just took the advice and responded with a forced smile, "I won't!"

Not much information was shared to Jungkook as Sung-ho realised the former needed to talk to Namjoon more than anything in the world right now. He put the phone back into his pocket when Bin walked in.

"So, what have you found from the house? And where's Jeon?" There was no difference in his tone than usual days even after accomplishing all unethical deeds as cited by Ho-sin.
"Jeon is not well, sir. I asked him to take the day off." Bin nodded at this saying, "I see! And the house?"

Sung-ho was reluctant to share about the cabinets. However, the arrangement of breaking the lock would be possible by his approval only.
"There were two old fashioned cabinets in the washrooms. It's really strange to see those in bathroom, but checking on them won't be a bad idea, sir."

"Okay, do whatever you want. Just get that done. And let me know who will take care of it." The immediate approval and acceptance of the idea was shocking to Sung-ho, who responded, "We will need a locksmith and if it can be arranged today then I will take care as Jeon is not available today."
"Okay, do the needful."

"Why that officer is waiting outside since hours now. Why aren't you letting him in?" Sang-mi asked her husband while running fingers through her son's hair. His wounds were dressed and doctor injected a medicine that made him feel drowsy. When the doctor arrived, Jungkook didn't stop pleading for allowing to meet Namjoon but Do-guk was not going to let that boy be around his son.

"His evidence got our son arrested, Sang-mi. Didn't you hear me out before?" Do-guk got irritated at his wife siding with Jungkook.
"Maybe there is something he knows and we don't. Just let him in, Do-guk. I don't know if he has anything to do with my Joonie outside of this case, but his crying voice held care and passion. You should rethink about it."

The lawyer was compelled to revise his decision staring at his son's face. The way he was depending on Jungkook before getting arrested was still afresh in his memory. Undoubtedly, they had something deeper than just acquaintance. But he was not ready to surrender yet.

Slight movement from the sleeping figure drew the attention of the middle aged couple. Sang-mi called removed the blanket from Namjoon's body and little to find his forehead sweating.

"I think he's waking up." She softly whispered to her husband who was checking on a crying Jungkook outside their door from the window of Namjoon's room. He rushed to the other side of Namjoon to find him blinking his eyes before completely opening them.

"Joonie, it's mom. How are you feeling baby?"

He kept staring at his mother for a while to get a hold of the situation and then at his father. As he tried to change his position, sharp pain pierced him through the cut on his lips. It was outcome of the hard punch from Bin. He groaned in pain after which Sang-mi hugged him gently.

"The doctor has prescribed medicines, you will recover in no time, baby." She spoke in broken voice and tearful eyes. Do-guk patted his head to provide maximum comfort but the boy started sniffling in his mother's arms.

"I didn't do anything, mom. I don't know the woman he showed me. I have never done anything wrong in my entire life." Each words was like a dagger running through their veins.
"I know, honey. We both know that. We have to find out who did-" Sang-mi got cut off by her husband who shouted, "It's that Jungkook boy who did this to our son."

Namjoon broke the hug from his mother's arms and looked at his father to protest in his soft voice, "He didn't do anything, dad. He said he will save me out of this mess."
"And you believe in him, Joonie?"

"I do, dad."
