Devin's POV

Fire blazed in the streets, and the sounds of desperate screams plagued my dreams as it had done several times before. I was used to the terrible cries. All that terror was because of me, I was the cause of the pain. Water dripped onto my face and there she was.

The woman I saw in my dreams was beautiful. Her tight black curls bounced on her shoulders as she walked. Her bright blue eyes glowed and her almond skin glistened in the heat of the flames. With every step she took, the flames seized, my flames seized. I swallowed the lump in my throat as she stood mere feet away from me.

Her hands gently cupped my face, staring at me with her blue eyes. I looked down and blood covered my hands. The woman didn't seem phased by the massive amount of blood. Her face softened as I noticed she was bleeding.

"You're bleeding," I said, my voice quivering at the sight.

"It's okay Devin, I will be fine. I know that you will save me,". Her voice echoed in my ears as if these were her last words to me.

The door to the RV slammed shut, I shot up in my bed. Sweat beamed from my forehead as I looked over. Mateo stood beside the door with a mug in his hand.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you,".

"No, it's fine," I said as I stood up, grabbing a T-shirt from the foot of my bed.

"Did you have that dream again," he asked before taking a sip of whatever was in his mug.

"Yeah, it's coming back even more now,". Mateo took a seat on the couch.

"Maybe it's a sign,".

"A sign for what, I've never seen anyone that resembles this woman,".

"It's not too late,".

"You're right, I'm going to get some air,".

I opened the door to the RV, slamming it behind me. I walked through the patches of grass surrounding the RV, the streets were clear. Bird chirped loudly, I took a deep breath in. The air here was so clean, it gave me a sense of peace in my restless life.

The sound of yelling caught my attention, I looked over curious about what was happening. I couldn't make out the words but I knew it was to females arguing. A woman pushed open the front door to the house, slamming it behind her. I watched as another woman followed behind her.

"Jenna I know that this wasn't what you wanted to hear,".

"It's not true. It can't be,".

"I know that it's hard,".

"You don't know anything," she shouts.

As the first woman shouted, my eyes widened at the sight of her. She was the woman from my dreams, the tight black curls, and bright blue couldn't be mistaken. I pulled myself together and began walking towards her. I turned my head, a car was barreling down the road. I had to think fast, I had to save her.

"Hey watch out," I shouted as I ran towards her.

She turned to me with a shocked expression. I tackled her to the ground, and the car continued down the road. I turned my attention back to the woman, she opened her eyes. I could feel my jaw drop as she stared at me in confusion.

"Are you okay, you look like you might pass out?". I closed my mouth and stood up.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I should be asking you that,". She stood up, dusting the dirt from her clothes.
