It was a gloomy and cold morning. The breeze made everyone shiver. She went outside her house and slowly walked to the train station. Her head still aching from last night's lack of sleep and nonstop thinking. She could feel her eye bags swelling, like it was loaded with something inside. Her hands were icy cold and her breathing was shallow, like a runner grasping for breath when reached the finish line. But she was no winner of a race. In fact, she was the one who came up last.
She looked down to her watch and read 6:00 am. She looks alarmed. The wind was continuously brushing her hair away from her face. There was silence. It's still too early. She sighed. The sight of the station makes her heart pound so fast. The more she walks closer to that place, the more she feels sick. Her stomach was beginning to turn upside down. She stopped at the foot of the stair. Her hand reached the metal bar. It was cold. And it seems to freeze her heart. She moved in a very slow pace, wishing the world will just stop when she reached the very last step. But it didn't.
Very few people walked. Others waited. Some were sleeping on the seats. I could wait. 30 minutes past, she was already panicking inside. A pair of lovers passed in front of her. She felt a pang of pain and guilt. Is this right? But her mind was blank. Maybe her decision was wrong, but could they blame her. She was scared. And so is he. They could only think of one solution. Runaway. Leave their families in disappointment, leave their neighbors feeling sorry for them, leave their friends who are clueless, and leave the world behind of them.
50 minutes past. More people were waiting. She felt a mess inside her head. Her head was throbbing hard and her vision was becoming to be blurred.
She was standing there for more than an hour already. The sight of the clock makes it hard for her to breathe. 'Please don't leave me. I couldn't fix this mess alone'. She touched her tummy. It was evident. The lies are over. Soon it'll get larger and larger.
And she was not ready for it. She was only fourteen. The dreams she dreamt of a hundred times before will remain as what they are, dreams. An education and a future that was lying ahead just seemed to be impossible by now. If it was up to her, she would get the small creature out of her womb. Call her evil, fine she doesn't care. Never in her wildest fantasies did she ever think of having a child at a very early age. Pretending that everything was going smooth and fine was actually the hardest part for her. To laugh and to sound as normal as possible in front of everyone else makes Her chocked whenever she thinks of it. None of her family knew about it yet. Not even her closest sibling. But she made a choice. That's why she's there, standing and waiting for him.
Some minutes passed. All her hopes were beginning to fail her. She was loosing the strength to fight. She was loosing him. The thought of it makes her whole body numb. Her desire to be with him was replaced with a much forceful desire. A desire for death. She heard the train going near. Big tears rolled down her eyes while she was closing them. And then.......
He was shocked. Blood was drained out of his system. For a moment, he was unable to move. All his muscles had weakened. He walked toward the crowd. After seeing his lover, lying so fragile and cold, a dark shadow covers his world. He felt everything was drifting away, taking her with them. I was only 80 minutes late. I wasted my 80 minutes and now I couldn't save her anymore. My God, I was only 80 minutes late. 80 minutes....... Then he blacked out.
