Part 9

I walked home timidly. What exactly would happen? Would I be greeted by a crying Louis saying he didn't make it or a fight between Louis and my parents? I honestly didn't know what to expect.

As I neared my door, I couldn't hear yelling. But I also didn't hear crying. I slowly turned the knob and was greeted by a smiling Louis, which was the complete opposite of what I was expecting. "I won the competition and I'm going on to boot camp! And Simon thought that I would sing best with these other boys. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik. They are wonderful lads and we already have so much in common. Do you remember them?" I nodded my head yes and smiled. "I'm so happy for you Lou! So you're going to be in a band?" "Yup." Louis replied happily. "And Harry decided that the band name could be One Direction. We all really like it." Louis said.

I was glad he got in. It was such an honor and my brother could become famous! He was already on the X Factor. It would only be a matter of time before someone reconized his talent and decided to give him a record deal. But then shock hit me. How could Lou keep this from our parents. "So are you going to tell mum and dad?" I vaguely asked. "I was thinking about telling them later tonight, maybe after dinner. I am going to get on their good side and do homework and chores early and get ready for bed. Then I will break the news to them." He said. "Do you need help explaining to them about the situation?" I asked. "Yes please." Louis said.

We both got on our chores right then and there. Then I did my homework and got ready for bed before dinner. Tonight was going to be interesting. I just wish my parents would understand and let Louis do what he wants to do most in his life. He has a talent yet he has recieved no support from my family once so ever. So now he can act and sing. Before long my brother might even be on Broadway! The only problem is the things he enjoys most tear him apart from my family. And he's 18. Just another struggling teen, trying to find a place in this cruel world.
