3rd person's POVA couple years have passed since you seen the kids of the 118 firehouse. Chris and Jack have both started liking and acting girls to come over to the house for little date nights. Talk about stress for Eddie and Kacey, they both didn't think this would happen for a few more years. One night after one of Chris's date went home, he was already in his room talking to another girl as Eddie went to check on him.
"Hey Chris, you're supposed to be brushing your teeth. You're already talking to Penny, she just got picked up." Eddie said.
Chris groaned as the girl on the other end of the phone, raged finding he was talking to other girls as well as her. She hung up as Chris looked as his dad, walking passed to go brush his teeth. Eddie stood there and sighed going to the kitchen where he left Kacey. Kacey looked at him, questioningly as he came into the room.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Well he wasn't talking to Penny, it was another girl." Eddie explained.
"I can talk to him, if you want me to?" She asked.
Eddie slowed nodded. He knew he couldn't talk to Chris about it cause Eddie had only been with one woman in his other than Kacey and that was Chris's mom Shannon. Eddie had never been the type to talk top multiple girls let alone date multiple at once. Eddie learned his mistake when he cheated on Kacey all those years ago. When Kacey walked in Chris's room, he was working on homework. She went to slowly sit next to him. Chris continued looking at his homework.
"Hey bub. I don't know what exactly is going on but you know that when you tell a girl she's special. She takes it to heart. When you tell all the girls that they all think they are special. What happens when one of them finds out you told the other is special too. Those girls are feel like they aren't special anymore." Kacey said.
"Yeah but they are special." He said.
"What happens if they all don't feel special cause you've told multiple other girls that, they are special too. They leave." She told him with a slight frown.
"They are gonna leave anyways just like mom did." He said.
"Shannon passed away, sweetie. She didn't leave." She tried to comfort him with her words.
"Before that, she left when he left and then when he got back that's when we left." Chris said with a sad expression.
"I'm sorry baby." Kacey said hugging Chris.
He hugged back then pulled away, letting go of Kacey as she got up and walked out of the room to see Eddie eavesdropping, she walked away leaving him to follow her to bed. Kacey laid down as Eddie crawled in bed with her, thinking about what Chris had said. Eddie knew what he needed to do.
A few days pass
As Kacey and Eddie got the kids home from school that afternoon. Eddie went through his things that Shannon left for Chris. He found a letter that was written to Chris. Eddie went to Chris's room and sat with him.
"Hey pal, I found something your mom wrote you when you were real little." He said letting it on his desk.
Chris stayed silent. "Okay. Is pizza okay for dinner?" He asked.
"Yeah, pizza is okay." Chris answered.
Eddie got up and went to the kitchen to see Jack helping his mom with the pizzas. Kacey gave Eddie a look about to ask what Chris wanted on his pizza but Eddie turned back around to go ask.
"Hey bud, what do you want on your pizza?" He asked.
"The usual." Chris said.
Eddie saw that Chris had picked up his picture of him and his mom, and saw the letter open. Eddie turned around smiling to himself. As Eddie walking back into the kitchen, Kacey had put in Jack and Evelyn's pizzas.
"The usual?" She asked.
He nodded as he helped her assemble the pizza. After the first ones got done, Kacey put in the second pizzas and let them cook. When those got done, the kids were helping get the table set. Eddie's and Kacey's pizzas were finishing cooking when the kids finished. As Eddie pulled out the pizzas, everyone was sat at the table ready for dinner. After dinner, everyone helped clean up, then got ready to bed and a movie. They had made where almost every Friday night after dinner, everyone got ready for bed and a movie.
As the weekend rolled around, Buck knocked on the door as his nieces opened the door for him. They squealed as they attacked their uncle with hugs.
"Uncle Buck!!!!!" Evelyn and Kaylynn squealed in his ears.
Buck squeezed his eyes shut as if he was going deaf. Eddie walked in and chuckled as the girls giggled at Buck's reaction. Buck put the girls down and followed Eddie to the kitchen for coffee.
"So how's everything going here?" Buck asked.
Kacey heard her twin brother, " EVAN BUCKLEY GET IN HERE!!!" She yelled throughout the house.
Buck wanted to take that as his cue to leave but his sister caught him at the door. Kacey gave him such a look of annoyance and death. Buck didn't know if he was gonna survive the next week with his twin sister and the kids. Buck had unintentionally told his parents that Kacey and him were gonna travel with the kids. Eddie decided to tag along with Chris for this to be a family trip knowing the Buckley parents weren't that great. But they had 3 grandkids, they never met before cause Kacey and her parents have never gotten along. Buck had rekindled his relationship with his parents after the lightning strike coma. Kacey refused to speak to her parents cause all the pain they put her and Buck through as kids. They were just parts, for their older brother who passed away at a young age. Buck made his way to his sister to help her with schedules and travel arrangements for their drive to Michigan. They were renting a Tahoe to fit everyone and all their things. Eddie had been helping the boys pick out what clothes and things they wanted to take with them so it was be easier for Kacey to pack in suitcases. Luckily they were staying in a hotel and not their parents house. Kacey was afraid of how her parents would react to the kids, she was panicking and still figuring out travel information for on the way. As the weeks got closer, the more panic and anxiety ran through Kacey's body as she started to get flashbacks about her and Buck's childhood and how Maddie left them both to on count on each other.
