It was a hot and sunny day, quite normal for the animals of the desert. There weren't a lot of animals though. The harsh sun of the desert didn't allow the livelihood of variety of animals to thrive. Only a few.
The camels provided a means of transport and didn't have to hunt for water much as they had it in their hump, stored for the future.
The scorpions were hidden beneath the sandy dunes.
Geckos, lizards, snakes, spiders and meerkats. You could spot all if you looked enough.
But you just didn't want to look enough. You were already too exhausted for that.
