[Alina's POV]
Leon and I had just taking down Lord Saddler, the cult leader of Los Illuminados. We managed to take him down quickly because we work well together. I mean, why wouldn't we? Leon and I met a few years back when I was first escaping the zombie hordes created by that horrible pharmaceutical company Umbrella. He literally saved my ass when a zombie had me pinned against a wall at a convenient store. Later on, I discovered that he was a rookie cop and was heading to the Raccoon City Police Station. We fought our way through everything that was thrown at us. When we finished, Leon wasted no time in asking if I wanted to be his girlfriend. I gladly accepted. Now, we were finishing up our latest mission: saving the President's daughter, Ashley Graham.
I felt a light touch on my shoulder and was met with piercing blue eyes. "Hey, you ok?" A gruff voice asked me. Only then did I realize I was shaking from battle. "Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry." He smiled. "Hey, I'm going to worry. You're my girl." We both closed our eyes to kiss but were rudely interrupted by an explosion. Leon tugged on my leather jacket and motioned to an elevator. "Let's go. Ashley's probably waiting for us." I nodded and we rushed back to the elevator that had taken us down moments again. We met up with Ashley who was patiently waiting. "Took you guys long enough." Leon and I chuckled as another explosion started up. "The island's gonna blow up. We need to move." Leon urgently responded. Together, the three of us made it out on a jetski and back to agency headquarters. There, we met up with Hunnigan, who debriefed us.
"Congratulations Agents Kennedy and Spades. You successfully rescued Baby Eagle." Leon and I shared a smile. "I couldn't have done it without Agent Spades. She's one hell of an agent." Leon stated, causing me to blush. "He's too modest, Hunnigan. I'm sure Leon would have done fine without me." Hunnigan laughed. "Well, we don't have anymore missions available right now. Why don't you two head home and get some rest, you earned it." Leon grabbed my hand gently and kissed it. "How about I take you to a nice dinner tonight?" I nodded. "I would love that."
It was about 6:30 and I still wasn't ready for dinner. My long brown hair was all out of control, three dresses were sprawled on the floor, and my makeup was ruined for the third time. I threw on a gray tank top and shorts and fell on the bed. Just then, my phone buzzed. I opened it and tears sprung from my eyes.
Leon: Hey, Gorgeous! It's getting late and I wanted to make sure we were still on for dinner.
Sighing in defeat, I texted him back.
Alina: Sorry, Babe. Something came up and I'm not going to be able to make it to dinner tonight.
Within a few seconds, my phone buzzed again.
Leon: Is it happening again?
This man knew me too well sometimes. Whenever my anxiety gets too much of a control over me, I panic and try to block stuff or people out. My hands started to shake as I typed again.
Alina: Yeah, but don't worry about it. I'm ok.
Leon: On my way.
Panicking, I typed quickly.
Alina: No, Leon. You don't have to come here. I'm fine, just a little stressed.
My phone buzzed again.
Leon: Too late.
There was a knock on my front door and I slumped off the bed. And there he was. Leon S. Kennedy. The man I fell in love with so many years ago. He wore a nice black tux and held up a bouquet of white lilies. "Ms. Spades? I hope you don't mind the intrusion." He smirked. Rolling my eyes, and pulled him in. "No intrusion at all, Mr. Kennedy." He gave me the flowers which I gladly accepted. "So, what happened? What caused it?" I shook my head. It was something very stupid to complain about. Leon sighed and grabbed my cheek. "Alina. Please tell me. I promise I won't be mad." I looked at my feet and sighed, "I couldn't find a dress for tonight." Leon grabbed my hand and led me to my bedroom. On the floor, there was a silver knee length dress that flowed in the back, a red side slip dress, and an emerald green long dress. Leon picked up the red dress and gave it to me. "Here. Put this on." I slipped my tank top and shorts off and threw the dress on. I looked to my standing mirror and frowned. "I don't know, Leon. This dress doesn't feel right. None of them do."
Leon nodded. "Ok, here's what we're going to do. I'll change into my jeans, order Chinese food, and cancel the reservations. You put your tank top and shorts back on and make yourself a nice hot cup of tea. Then, we'll watch whatever chick flick you want tonight. Sound good?" I nodded slowly.
By the time I made my tea, the food had arrived and Leon had just finished canceling dinner. I walked over to him and put my arms around him. "I'm sorry about dinner." He shook his head. "Babe, you don't need to be sorry. I understand. I just want to make sure you're taken care of." I smiled and kissed his cheek. We ate for a bit while watching The Notebook and then Leon paused the movie. "Alina, I want to ask you something." He got up from the lavish pink couch we were sitting on and pulled out a velvet box. He got down on one knee and opened the box to reveal a diamond ring. "Alina Adrienne Spades, will you make me the happiest man on Earth and marry me?" Tears welled from my eyes as I pulled him into a hug. "Yes, Leon. I will." We passionately kissed as he slipped the ring on my finger. "I love you, future Mrs. Kennedy." "I love you, Mr. Kennedy." We sat back down and finished the movie. It was about 11 p.m. when Leon carried me to my bedroom. He wrapped his arms around me as soon as we covered ourselves with the multitude of blankets on my bed. Before I passed out, I heard Leon whisper, "for the record, any dress you would've worn tonight would have been great. I think you look sexy in anything, Babe."
