It was a dark and Stormy Night at Lake's Funland. The Animatronics remained still and stared straight ahead. There was no guard at the Family Entertainment Center tonight as the guard called in sick. Other than the rain outside and the Thunder clapping, it was mostly quiet. Until the sound of the gears whirring from one of the animatronics echoed through the main dining area. "...Lake? Are you awake?" a voice asked. It was Chick the Bird, a Red animatronic bird with shades, a white shirt, and blue jeans shorts. The Lake Animatronic's head slowly began to turn towards Chick, his swirly glasses shining in the moonlight. "Kerry...Yes. I am Awake." Lake said. "...How did you know my name?" Chick asked. "I know everyone's names. Whenever overhearing it, or something else. I know everyone in this place." Lake said. Chick didn't respond for a bit, thinking. "Is there something you need?" Lake asked. "Before I ask it, what is your name?" Chick asked. Lake didn't respond for a bit. "..Lake?" Chick asked. "Megan. My name was Megan. Meg for short." Lake said. "Oh, can I ask you something? Don't take it as judgment, I'm just curious." Chick said. Lake nodded. "Sure, what's the matter?" Lake asked. "Why don't you want to leave? What's so special to you about being here every day and every night?" Chick asked. Lake didn't respond, taken aback by Chick's Question. "I'm sorry if I offended you," Chick said. "Don't. You didn't. I just..wasn't expecting the question. I don't...I don't have anyone left for me. I doubt anyone remembers me. There's no one left for me outside." Lake said. Chick tilted her head. "What do you mean?" Chick asked. "...Huh. Kerry, I never talked to you before, have I?" Lake said. Kerry shook her head, causing Chick to shake hers. "No, we never talk," Chick said. Lake sighed before he spoke. "When I was a child, things were...better. I had a little sister, who had a condition where she needed a brace to walk. It was ok..Until our parents sent us away, to our aunt. And she was horrid." Lake said. "Oh..Do you remember their names? Your Sister and your Aunt?" Kerry asked. "...No. I do not. It was the late 50s If I recall. But I do know the old witch is dead." Lake said. "Lake, why-" Chick began to say. "She deserved that title, trust me. Let me explain. At first, it was normal, she didn't hurt us, but after a while, she turned on us. But it was mostly targeted towards me. It was just simple starvation at first, but over time it got worse...and worse...and Worse.." Lake said. "Oh..What exactly happened?" Chick asked. "I don't want to say. It was horrible, think of something you went through, but 10 times worse." Lake said. Chick covered her beak. "Oh...Oh my god, Meg, I'm sorry...I'm so sorry you went through all that." Chick said. Lake didn't respond. "...Were you..alone through all of this? Was no one there to help you?" Chick asked. "...No. I had one friend aside from my sister. He helped me through it all. But even then, he couldn't save me. I remember one night in particular, I could barely see, my eyes were that swollen, I heard him, trying to come to help me. All I remember was hearing him get beaten up by one of the neighborhood kids. ...I miss him sometimes. He was more than my best friend...I loved him...so much..." Lake said. "Oh...what happened next?" Chick asked. "One day he came back. I was on the brink of death. I could barely move. He had a plan. He smoked out the room I was kept in, luring the demon down, then he knocked her out, before beating her to death. Unfortunately... one of those neighborhood kids came in and began to fight him. An officer came down...and...I don't remember what was said.. but I remember him coming to me...I remember asking him to take care of me...he said yes...then I said...that I loved him...then...I met him." Lake said. Chick was...very interested. "Met who?" Chick said. "The Judge. Like everyone else here. He gave me an option and I accepted and....Huh. I'm here." Lake said. Chick looked down. "I'm so sorry that happened to you, Megan..." Chick said. Lake didn't say anything, just stared. "...What was your friend like?" Chick asked. Lake looked over at Chick. "Oh...Well, let me tell you..." Lake said. Music begins to flood the room as the screen goes black, ending the story..on something of a cliffhanger.
