My last class was boring as hell. Seriously, I would rather drink acid. It's not that the material was hard, it was too easy. Professor Palladino was talking, like someone was actually istening. My attention kept going from the clock to the window, to the cup of coffee on his table. I reached for my phone that I keep in the back pocket of my jeans. Deena is still not answering. It was the start of the semester, she should have returned from her vacation, at least that's what I'm thinking. The last time we spoke was a week ago which was unlike her. She used to text me everyday, before putting my phone away. I look out the window again, my eyes jump from tree to a tree, I notice that there is no one out which seemed weird. I look back at the clock, 14:30, it took me a second to realize that it had stopped working. I look at the cup of coffee, then my eyes landed on the professor who was looking right at me. His expression was neutral, I looked around and my heart started pounding a little faster when I saw all of the other students were staring at me. Their eyes empty-like. They didn't stop staring. It was death silence. I stood up, taking a step back. Then I heard someone's ringtone. I blinked and as if I woke up from a creepy dream, all of them were looking at the professor, some of them on their phones. I realized I was sitting, I looked at the clock, 14:34. What the hell? Was It a dream?

I was the first person to leave the room after the class ended. I walked to my dorms, my roommate hadn't come back yet. He said he was going to a bar near the dorms with a few friends. I don't know him that good but I wasn't surprised when i heard he was going to drink after his first day in college. Tyler is not that bad though, i can tell that much. I sat on my bed, taking my laptop from the bag, since I had to edit the photos Deena send me 3 weeks ago. I was so focused that I actually even got surprised when my phone started ringing. I looked at the screen and sign when I saw Deena's name. I pick up immediately. "Did you actually forgot about me? I'm hurt" my tone was dripping from sarcasm. But when I didn't got answer from the other side I sigh. "Deena? You there?" I could hardly hear breathing on the other line. As if she had ran a marathon but it sounded like the phone was a far from her. "Deena, are you okay?" I ask when she hang up. I blinked twice, then called her but her phone had turned off. I called again, nothing. I stood still, looking at the corner of the room as if I'm thinking about something deep, but in reality I'm just trying to process if she tried to prank me, or something actually happened. I looked at the screen of my laptop, at the photos I had started editing. Specifically on the one that was still loading, when it showed the whole picture, my eyes widen. "What the hell?" On the picture Deena was crying, her eyes were unnaturally red from crying. She looked scared to death. I pick up my phone when I felt a headache, I looked back at the laptop and the picture seemed normal. I looked at it another second. The insomnia doesn't do me good.
