"I can tell you what your problem is."

She raised a brow, this was new.

"Pray tell, Beast Boy," she droned.

"You don't smile."

How original.

"Wonderful observation, Sherlock."

"I'm not trying to be mean, Rae," Beast Boy interjected, "but people are afraid of you cause you don't smile. Try doing that and you'll probably see a difference."

"Funny, you finally made me laugh," she frowned, "leave it alone. I'm not going to smile if I'm not happy. Who the hell smiles all the time?"

"I'm not saying all the time, Raven," he hastily explained.

Rae or Raven is notorious for flinging items at him at the slight burst of irritation. This didn't mean he purposefully tried to upset her like he may unintentionally be doing now. Beast Boy is the jokester or the class clown. Hell, even their team leader, Robin, bore witness to it.

"I wanted to help you out," he deflated.

"As nice as that is, it's not helping, it's insulting," she rebutted, "Would you say that to Starfire?"

"Course not! She smiles all the time. Dude, she's the happiest person to exist," he flung himself back into a chair in exasperation. Or more like a dunce.

"You're hopeless."

"I don't understand."

She could feel the puppy dog eyes and pout forming on his face. She could also feel the sweat dripping down her before she sighed.

"I'm part demon and my powers react base on my emotions. The last time my powers went out of whack was because Starfire and I swapped bodies. Her happiness caused problems," she shifted her eyes back to the book, "Just because I'm not jumping for joy doesn't mean I don't smile."

"I've never seen you smile," He groaned before gasping. "I didn't even think you could. I thought we would have to drag a class for it or something."

"How about this," Raven offered in desperation, "If you can get me to laugh sometime later on," she raised a finger to stop his interruption, "then I'll smile."

"Nah."

"No?" She growled.

"It has to be genuine. A genuine smile."

"It would be, if you were funny."

In an instance, she regretted her decision. This was going to be a long semester.
