And we can only see a small portion of the cosmic web due to the travel of light and the age of the universe, a galaxy is already big enough. Let me give you a good example of how small our solar system is lets day the United States is roughly the size of our galaxy the milky way. Our solar system would be the the size of a dime.
Lets take a look at the cosmic web. This is our home. Laniakea. Filled with hundreds thousands of galaxies. One being the milky way. And that only takes up a small part of the visible cosmic web.
Lets say this is the size of the universe. This is an example of how big the universe can truly be. The blue circled area would be an example of how much we can see. Roughly 46.5 billion light years we can see in each direction. And the observable universe can be even smaller compared to observers-able universe than that
There could be endless amounts of life in our universe. Why haven't we met them? Here is a estimate why.
We might be the first intelligent civilizations in this universe to develop. Let me explain so the universe started at the same time for everything inside of it. Roughly 13.8 billion years ago. However earth only developed 4.5 billion years ago. And only the past hundred thousands years have humans existed. Thats not even a million. 4.5 million is 4,500 million. So less than 1/4500 of earths existence. And in a short span of the past hundred years we have advanced at a phenomenal rate.
Creates technological intelligence. And this is only the beginning of our advance. Our growth will get faster and faster and faster with ai. It will get higher and higher. Faster and faster. We will get smarter and smarter.
We will explore the universe and become a multi planet super intelligent civilization. This is whats known as a loud civilization. Right now we are a quiet civilization. We are on one planet and we aren't making much noise or expanding much territory. But humans are predicted to become a loud civilization with the advancements were making. And likely aliens are developing around the same rate. The reason for this is because we were born in a golds locks time zone. A perfect time to advance. Before the universe was still developing and was not ready for intelligent life. Now the universe is ready.
