Plane Rides to New Lives

Chapter one, Flights and Pasta

Fuck, okay. The aeroplane is about to land, meaning my new life will actually start. I have never been so scared and so excited for anything in my life. I mean, moving to Australia after spending 26 years of my life in England is pretty damn scary... But it's also really exciting, as I'm going to be living my dream.

Shit, shit, shit, it's time to get off. Oh my god and then I have to grab all my baggage, find my Uber, pick up my new house key, take all my belongings out of storage. Oh my god, I have so much to do.

After I had finally located my Uber, I had him drop me off at my new apartment. My apartment which is located on the edge of the city, with the balcony looking over the shore of Adelaide, South Australia. My new home.

Once I had put away my bagagge, I glanced at the clock to find out it was already 6pm. I figured, since I wanted to go out and explore the city a bit anyways, I might as well go find a local supermarket to grab some stuff for a quick dinner and look at some surroundings. I put on my motorcycle gear and grabbed my helmet, quickly making my way out the door.

Once in the garage, where my motorcycle was stored, I realized I completely forgot my keys... Making me have to walk all the way back to my apartment. When I was finally on my bike, I let all my feelings and stress sink in, as I flowed my way through the traffic. The local supermarket wasn't too far, something I was quite happy about. I parked my bike, took off my helmet, shook out my hair, letting the curls fall down on my shoulders and made my way inside.

The supermarket was not big by any means, but large enough to have just about everything I could need. I walked around the supermarket for a while, gathering stuff for a nice and easy pasta. Smiling at some of the people around, as I slowly made my way to the exit.

Once outside, I found a wall to lean on and set my bag down by my feet, grabbing my cigarette box. I needed a smoke after the stress of today.

I took a long, deep breath, letting the smoke fill my lungs as I closed my eyes and let my head fall back on the wall. I instantly felt better, my stress evaporating just a tiny bit.

That was, until I felt a stranger standing next to me, making me open my eyes. She lit her own cigarette before turning to me.

"You know, smoking's not good for you." She spoke. I looked at her, narrowing my eyes as I scoffed. "Kind of hypocritical, don't you think?"

She just looked at me, laughed and took a long drag of her cigarette. That's when she spoke up again.

"I know, but, I only smoke now and then." "Well so do I." I told her in an irritated tone. "Actually, I only smoke when I'm stressed."

"So, what's got your knickers in a twist then?" I looked at her like she was crazy.  "Knickers? What the hell even is that?"

That was probably the moment she realised I was in fact not from Australia. She scoffed. "So, you are obviously not from Australia..." "Wasn't my British accent an obvious clue?" I asked, before taking another drag of my almost finished cigarette.

She laughed. "Hell I don't know, maybe you were an Australian with British parents." "That's ridiculous." I stated. "No not really, I know someone like that." She said back.

"Oh." I tried brushing it off, finally getting a good look at the stranger to my side. She was gorgeous, shoulder-lenght black hair that looked incredibly soft, making me want to rake my hands through it. She had piercing blue eyes, like nothing I had ever seen before, many facial piercings and an incredibly attractive eyebrow slit. Even through her motorbike gear, I could see she had an amazing body shape, making me want to rip off her clothing.

Okay- That was the moment I realised I needed to calm down, feeling a blush creep up my face at the very much non-PG thoughts that suddenly consumed my mind.

I moved my gaze back to her eyes, realising she very much just saw me check her out, making me blush even deeper. I quickly moved my eyes back to the floor, stomping on my cigarette to put it out.

"You know, if you want to check me out, you don't have to hide it." I gazed back up at her, my blush spreading to my chest and neck, making me even more embarrassed than I already was.

She let out a low chuckle, before extending her hand to me. "My name is Demi, by the way." I grabbed her hand, introducing myself. "I'm Addison ."

"So," She started. "You said you were stressed, whatever for? I can't imagine someone as pretty as you could have much to worry about."

I knew she was doing it just to embarrass me, but still, my face went beet red. "You have no idea." I told her.

That was the moment my stomach decided to, very loudly, rumble. She looked at me and laughed. "Are you hungry?"

I decided there was no denying it. "Yeah, I am actually. I just bought stuff for dinner, but I still have to cook."

"What were you going to cook?" She asked me. "I bought some stuff for a basic pasta, you know nothing too fancy."

"You know." She said. "I cook an amazing pasta pesto. If you want to -and please don't feel pressured to- I can cook you some?"

I looked at her flabbergasted, a stranger I had met not even 20 minutes ago, was asking me to come over to her house for pasta. But I figured, this way I might actually make a friend my first day here, that would be pretty amazing. Plus she looked way to pretty to be a crazy serial killer or something.

"Sure, why not." Was my response. She smiled so genuinely, it made me want to kiss those plump lips of her. I quickly discarded that thought as she pushed herself off the wall and grabbed her helmet.

"Follow me?" She inquired. "Lead the way!"
