Chapter 14

I woke up to my alarm ringing, I checked the time and saw that it was already 6:30 in the morning time for my ' morning run '.

I changed into some gym clothes and walked out the door as it was still quite dark outside but the sun was rising up so it made for a nice sunrise like image. Which was perfect for my mood. I started to stretch before I began as my usual routine, and I started jogging from there.

After coming across some fellow joggers and a few more nods of acknowledgement, I returned home and entered the kitchen to grab myself a bottle of water.

Going up my room I went into my bathroom an took a warm shower. I stepped out of the bathroom and heard my phone ringing and quickly rushed to see who the ID caller was. Elated I picked up the phone and tried to calm myself down.

Eli: Hey kid, I managed to convince him to talk with you but you need to be quick he's impatient now.

A: Ok thank you Miss Eli, really thank you very much .

Eli: Child how many times must I tell you just call me Elizabeth, making me feel older that what my age is.

A: Got it, I'm on my way. Thank you.

Eli: Your welcome sweetheart.

I quickly got dressed and went down stairs towards the garage and took my car keys, I got in my car and drove as quickly as I could even though traffic was really a piece of work, but I eventually arrived at the hospital quickening my steps towards the elevator and to the room and knocked before opened the door by a crack.

Eli: Come in sweetie, we we're waiting for your arrival.

I opened the door completely and entered before closing it behind me.

Eli: I'll have to leave you two to it.
She said walking to the door and closing it behind her.

A minute passed by without us talking and no sound but the beeping machine filling the room.

H: So are you going to talk or leave the room?

A: ... I... I'm really sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me. I'm sorry I was so selfish and didn't even think about you, I'm sorry I didn't wait for you, Hunter. I'm sorry...

The silence after that was pain killing, I wanted him to reply and give me his thoughts on how we could fix our relationship.

H: I don't blame you for leaving, you had your own problems, I blame myself for having to trust you with my heart.... I fell in love with you Amber, but you never even noticed the signs, the little signs I did for you, now I just feel stupid for all of that.

A: I-

H: Don't fucking apologize Amber, ok. I don't need them, what I need is you to fucking explain why you came back.

A: I... It's because he cheated on me, he cheated on me with my sister Hunter...
I said as I looked down knowing that I should have listened and I'm ashamed that I didn't.

He used his index finger to call me over to his side and sat down on the chair next to him, as I did so my head was still a bit down but I can still see his face clearly.

I sat down as he looked at me with those heterochromia like eyes that could kill if it was possible.
He used his index finger to lift my face for him to see me.

H: You should know your worth, rather than leave with a boy who can't love or respect you.

He looked me dead in the eyes as he was saying that. I started to see how much I didn't think about what was I doing that day when I left, I guess... blinded by love... a love that wasn't even real. I was blinded by that, my obsession over Johnathan blinded me and I left behind the person who truly loved me and hurt him when he needed me. I could, actually... I can never forgive myself for that and if I was in his shoes, I wouldn't forgive me and I don't expect him to.

H: Amber, I can't forget what you did but I can forgive you, simply because I still love you but you'll have to earn my trust again.

I nodded in response to his words as my eyes were starting to tear up. He shouldn't have but he did. He forgave me even if I lost his trust but that doesn't matter, what matters is that he forgave me and is still in love with me. It's a miracle he didn't kick me out of the room.

He reached for his bedside table and opened it to reveal a box of tissues and closed it after giving me the box.

H: Wipe your tears, I don't want to see you crying.

I did so.

A: Thank you .. Hunter for forgiving me, I know I didn't deserve it.

He responded with an 'mm' sound.There was an awkward silence after that. I think he noticed that I wanted to say more but didn't bother to say, he was about to speak when the door burst open to reveal his ... sister and another man I don't know.

Hunter's sister: Oh my goodness Hunter you idiot, how the heck did you get shot? And out of all the skilled people you just had to be sloppy at that.

H: How about hey bro, are you ok? Does it hurt? How are you? But nooooo that's too hard for you to say now is it Rose!?

Rose: Shut up stupid, that's how I worry about you.
He rolled his eyes at his sister making her stick her toung out at him like a five year old.

The man chuckled at them.

? : You two never seem to have a normal conversation like regular people. There always has to be some sibling squabble.

That is very true.

R&H: We do not squabble.

?: Really? Name a time or moment you two had a decent conversation.

They were silent indicating that they never really had a decent conversation together.

? : As I thought.

R&H: Shut up Keith!

He raised his hands up in surrender giving up on the two. He had a small smirk looking my direction.

K: And who's this pretty lady?
He said folding his arms

H: Keith this is-

R: Amber Silverton.
She copied Keith's stance.

H: Didn't I tell you that I don't like being cut off.
He said while gritting his teeth.

R: Ohh please calm down.

This woman... Is- You know what nevermind, they grew up together. I'm not even gonna bother, all I need to know is that he forgave me when I didn't deserve it.

I'm just glad that he still has a bit of his old self within him.
