Seonghwa missed Hongjoong.
Ateez's leader - of course - had to fulfill his duties and had to go after his responsibilities as a leader.
But even if it sounded selfish, Seonghwa would've rather had Hongjoong by his side, inside their room and asleep at night.
He knew the younger wasn't sleeping well, always coming back with dark bags under his eyes and weak limbs.
Seonghwa missed Hongjoong.
He just wanted him back home, safe and sound.
Maybe this was caused by how the younger made him feel around him.
Perhaps the way he always made sure to take Seonghwa's wants and needs into account.
Perhaps the songs he wrote and said were made for Seonghwa.
Because he wished it was true.
Because whenever he caught those eyes on him, he wished they could stay on him forever.
Because every time they would touch in the slightest, the spot in which their skin met felt like electricity was flowing through it.
Because Seonghwa wished so desperately for those longing gazes of Hongjoong to be what he imagined them to be.
Because Seonghwa fell in love with Hongjoong on the first day they met.
Their path over the years was rather rocky, always bickering and distancing.
But lately, it felt as if Hongjoong tried to distance himself some more, almost avoiding Seonghwa.
And Seonghwa felt as if his world crashed when he noticed it.
Seonghwa loved Hongjoong.
There were times where Seonghwa would imagine that maybe Hongjoong did reciprocate his feelings.
But then, he'd run away again, leaving Seonghwa to rethink what they went through for him to just go.
Leaving Seonghwa alone with his thoughts.
And really, Seonghwa hated being alone in their room, being left in their home with everyone but Hongjoong.
Seonghwa loved Hongjoong.
So much he'd already put up photos of him to at least have something left of him in their home.
But those pictures didn't make him feel any less lonely lately.
So, he settled on just sleeping on the couch until Hongjoong would come home and wake him, sometimes only coming home the next morning.
Seonghwa was worried about Hongjoong.
Whenever he'd come home late, wake him up, Seonghwa could see those tired eyes and slumped stance and would worry about him.
But he had stopped asking a while ago.
Perhaps he just didn't want to know if Hongjoong really only worked on their newest songs or was out to relief some stress with random girls who wouldn't talk about his identity.
Yeah, Seonghwa was scared.
Seonghwa was scared of losing Hongjoong.
And perhaps that was the reason why he wouldn't ask anymore.
Instead, he just sat on the couch in their living room, sometimes covered in a blanket and sometimes not.
The flickering lights of their TV caught his attention slightly, eyes tiredly moving up from the floor and onto the screen before him.
