Chapter 18

"This really sucks." Sera complained, Tory agreed "I can't believe they kicked us out."

Robby sighed and reminded the two girls "This is what happens when Cobra Kai's involved. Everybody loses." 

"Are you trying to blame us?" Tory asked defensively, lately she'd been really on edge. "Look, Robby we were trying to stop a fight, not start one."

"You won the tournament ,and everything's going good for you, but you're part of the problem. And Sera your his granddaughter you are just as involved as he is, your family is the problem"

Tory took a step back and decided to leave knowing things could get ugly, the last thing she needed right now was more drama to deal with. Sera's words stuck in her breath as she collected herself "I was just hoping we could have a fun day together. But I guess that's impossible."

"It's only impossible if you're still in Cobra Kai." he paused taking a deep breath before explain "And so is staying with me."

"Well, I can't." Sera reminded him, she refused to look him in the eye as she told him "I'm not leaving Cobra Kai." 

Robby let out a shuddering breath and shoved his hands into his pockets "Then, I guess that's it." he gestured with his head to the rest of the Cobra's "You and Tory and Kenny and-everyone else can stay brainwashed." he  sighed in defeat "I'm done trying to help."

Just then Miguel came round the corner "Hey! I could've sworn sensei said you were out of Cobra Kai." he asked Robby gesturing to Seraphina. 

"I'm not in Cobra Kai." Robby tried to explain. Miguel scoffed "You're on their side." 

"You don't know what you're talking about." Robby retorted not wanting to deal with this right now, especially not in front of Sera.  

Miguel smirked nodding "Oh. You think because you came to Mexico you're a good guy." shaking his head he confirmed "You're not." Robby chuckled darkly "Look who's talking. Let's get clear. I didn't come to Mexico for you."

"Robby what is he talking about?" Sera asked confused at the little standoff between the two boys in front of her. "Nobody asked you to go anywhere!" Miguel yelled. Just then a van drove over and Johnny Lawrence jumped out of the driver's seat shouting "Hey, hey! Stop it. I want you to get along. We're all friends now."

"No, we're not friends. We never will be." Robby stated before walking in the opposite direction. Sera would have gone after him but she thought it would be better to leave him alone for a bit. 

Later that night Sera left her new house under the pretences of visiting a friend when really she was going to go meet Robby. She'd given what he said about Cobra Kai a lot of thought with additional input of everything that she has seen and heard in the Dojo. 

Knocking on the door it opened, Sera immediately burst into an apology "Robby I'm sorry you were right and-" she stopped suddenly. Instead of the tall boy with short brown hair that she had been expecting she saw a shorter blonde woman. "Hello? Can I help you?" 

"Hi-um. Is Robby home?" Sera inquired. The woman's face lit up "You must be Seraphina, come in. Robby's just gone shopping but he'll be home soon. Would you like a drink?"

Sera felt awkward, she'd never officially met Robby's mother and didn't know what she was like. Families tended to be an avoided topic during their relationship. Seraphina sat on the sofa while her mother made some herbal tea, while it was boiling the smell wafted through the air. 

"It smells wonderful Miss Keene." Sera complimented to break the occasional silence. "You think it smells great, wait until you drink it. And don't call me Miss Keene, Shannon is fine"

Shannon sat down next to Sera and offered her a cup "So" Shannon began "Clearly it can't be something good if you're turning up at my son's doorstep this late. Is everything alright?"

"Yes-um-It's just. Me and Robby are having an argument at the moment and I wanted to sort it out" Sera explained solemnly. Shannon gave her a comforting pat on the back "Don't worry, he's got his father's temper. Give him some time to cool down and he'll listen"

There was a key in the door and Robby walked into his apartment only to see him girlfriend or rather ex-girlfriend sat drinking tea with his mother. "Sera?"

She looked over to the door "Robby. I-"

"What are you doing here?" he demanded to know. The last thing he wanted was another fight over Cobra Kai, especially in front of his mother. 

"Robby. please can we talk. I don't even need you to talk I just need you to listen to me" Sera begged tears pricking the corners of his eyes. With a huff he signalled for her o come outside. Sera nodded placing her cup on a coaster on Shannon's coffee table. 

Shutting the door Robby asked again "What are you doing here?" 

"Robby I've been thinking about what you've said and you're right. Cobra Kai brainwashes people and I was one of them for so long. All I've ever wanted was my grandfather's praise.  I thought by winning the All Valley everything would be great but it wasn't until I found out that he- he um-" Sera couldn't get the words out.

Robby looked at her concerned "Sera slow down. Tell me what he did"

"He- um- he paid off the ref to make sure I wouldn't win in my match against Sam. I was right about the illegal move, and you were right about Cobra Kai and- I just want everything to go back to the way it was." Sera blurted.

"What if there was a way to make everything go back to normal. A way to take down Cobra Kai from the inside?" Robby asked eyes suddenly shinning. "What do you mean?" Sera asked confused. 

"You be on team Miyagi-Do you train with us sometimes and you give us regular updates on Cobra Kai's plans. This way everyone wins you can leave Cobra Kai after we take it down and we save kids in the valley while also taking a target off our backs."

Seraphina was starting to understand where Robby was coming from, she also understood the secret meaning behind his words, if she did this, if she was a double agent for Miyagi-Do then they could be together.

Sera nodded "When do I start?"
