Aspen sat in her room, trying to make sense of the tumultuous emotions that had been swirling inside her since she had ended things with Wolf. She had thought that by cutting ties with him, she would be able to move on and let go of the forbidden love that had consumed her heart. But little did she know that Wolf had other plans.

Just as she was beginning to find some semblance of peace, there was a knock on her door. Aspen's heart skipped a beat as she opened it to find Wolf standing there, determination blazing in his eyes.

"Aspen, please, hear me out," Wolf pleaded, his voice filled with desperation. "I can't let you go. I know I can't leave my wife, but I can't bear the thought of never seeing you again. Please, give me a chance to explain."

Aspen's heart wavered at the sight of Wolf's pained expression, but she knew she had to stay strong. She listened as he poured out his heart, telling her about his wife's affair and how it had shattered his world. He confessed that he had been lost and seeking solace in their forbidden love, but now he realized that he needed to face the truth and let go.

Aspen felt a pang of sympathy for Wolf, but she knew that she couldn't continue to be the other woman in his life. She explained to him that true love wasn't about holding onto someone who could never truly be yours, but about letting them go and wishing them happiness in their own life.

"You need to let me go, Wolf," Aspen said softly, tears shimmering in her eyes. "I can't be the reason you stray from your wife, no matter how much we care for each other. We have to find our own paths and let go of this forbidden love."

Wolf hung his head, a mix of regret and acceptance in his eyes. He knew that Aspen was right, but he couldn't help the ache in his heart at the thought of losing her. He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, a silent goodbye passing between them.

And as Aspen watched him walk away, she knew that their forbidden love had finally come to an end. But in its place, a newfound sense of forgiveness and closure bloomed within her, allowing her to move forward and open her heart to love once more.
