The story all started centuries ago.

It was such a long time ago.. but for Daisy it felt like yesterday. The memories were so fresh in her mind, since she had nothing else to think about. And the days blurred together anyways.

It started at just a simple store. She was 18 years old, still working at her dad's farm. She had to get some plant feed for her father, but there were two shops to choose from.

Her choice had changed the course of her entire life.

She had picked the big and blue JojaMart, all modernised and corporate, since the manager was so charismatic.

A little too charismatic.

He'd ended up taking more than just her money. He also took her heart. And then her hand in marriage. And then her... you get it. They fell in love.

They went on crazy adventures together with her friend group, consisting of her, her husband (Morris), her cousin (Rocco), and her close friend (Noelle).

He'd give her gifts, affection, his time, money. He'd give her the world and she always made sure to return the favour.

They moved into the city of New Whiskerton after discovering her husband's family history and his species. The mayor was incompetent and unjust, so Morris, powered by his ambition, decided to run for mayor.

He'd succeeded. They were all very young adults but since he suddenly had power they had to mature a bit quicker. They even ended up having children sooner than planned.

These were the most precious years of her life. She cherished them deep in her heart. Every day she would go back to these simpler times, when everything felt much, much less lonely.

Good things don't last forever, and her immortality proved that. Being immortal and having a mortal husband was truly a curse.

There was nothing she could've done to prevent the inevitable. He lived for a while due to his extra lives, but a while isn't forever. Daisy would be living forever, without him.

And forever was a very long time.

----------------------------------------------------

Now she was many years old. She had taken over as Mayor of New Whiskerton shortly after her husband's demise, but quickly stepped down and handed it to her daughter Rosie instead.

She couldn't handle the position of Mayor, for she could barely get out of bed in the morning. She felt guilty and ungrateful, since she knew she had a lot of time with him, but most of all she just felt a heavy grief. It weighed on her everyday and crushed her soul.

She ended up moving out of the city area, into the woods, since all the statues and memorials for the fallen mayor became too much for her to see every day.

She became a shut-in. She only went away from home if needed. She had a little cottage in the woods, next to a pond, where she grew plants and cared for small animals that didn't take as much effort as larger ones would.

She just wished and prayed every day that things could be different. That she could just die, and be with him, wherever he was, whether it be Hell, Heaven, or something in-between. She didn't care.

She never would care.
