I never meant to meet the blonde. But Kami works in strange ways. I hadn't spoken for 4 years, I was silent Saki, but befriending the hyper-active class clown, loosened my tongue.
It was a sunny day in the village, and Sakura had wondered off into some shop. So I was silently walking around, careful not to bump into anyone. Then he bumped into me...
"Haha! They'll never catch me! ARGH!" I looked up in time to see a blonde from my class skidding into me. I inwardly groaned, it was Naruto, if Sakura caught him on top of me like this...wait what!? He was on top of me! I blushed, and when he looked up, he blushed deeper.
"S-sorry Saki-San, I'll get off of you now." He rolled off of me, and my blush still didn't fade...He knew my name.
"Hey sorry- um we have to run! NOW!" He pulled me up and pulled me along, he was fast. If only I could show him that I was faster.
"NARUTO!" I heard Iruka-Sensei behind us and I pondered what he did this time, I scanned the shops, until my eyes rested on the mountain side. I half smiled, his graffiti was pretty good. Naruto suddenly pulled me into a dark alley, and caught his breath.
"I'm sorry I dragged you into this." I shook my head and smiled, I was glad, this was pretty fun.
He tilted his head, obviously noticing now that I haven't spoken a word to him, much less at all in the few years I've gone to school with him. I motioned to my mouth and shook my head.
"Oh, you're mute?" He said rather bluntly, I made a face. Naruto looked more confused. Iruka-Sensei was still shouting for Naruto, and suddenly Naruto jumped and ran from the alley pulling me with him. I hadn't been listening to Iruka-Sensei, so I didn't hear.
"Naruto...? Why is Saki with you?"
Iruka-Sensei asked when we reached him, and he eyed our intertwined hands. I blushed, I've been doing that a lot lately. Naruto followed the jounin's gaze and turned an unbelievable shade of pink.
"Uh- Naruto? Are you two...?" He trailed off hinting that we were together, Naruto immediately dropped my hand and started yelling at our teacher. Meanwhile, I stood behind him and blushed furiously, wondering why I was disappointed that he let go of my hand.
"*coughs*" the males looked at me.
"Okay, why are you here Saki?" Naruto explained the crash, and asked about how I couldn't talk.
"It's not that Saki can't, she chooses not to." Naruto sweat dropped and turned to me,
"Saki- will you talk for me?" My eyes widened, it was tempting, it would be much easier to go through life. But then there was Sakura...
Naruto looked at me pleading with his eyes.
"If not for..at least to?" My heart thumped heavily but I took a shaky breath,
"O-o-only t-to y-you N-Naruto-Kun." I blushed and dipped my head, suddenly regretting my statement. Sakura, I flinched at the memory.
"YES BELIEVE IT!" Naruto suddenly attacked me in a bear hug and Iruka-Sensei patted my head.
