Dear Diary,
I'm sixteen years old today! I woke up feeling excited and decided to start this diary to document everything that happens during this pivotal year of my life. I have a feeling that being sixteen will change me in ways I can't yet imagine.
My name is Elena, and I live with my dad in Los Angeles. My mom divorced my dad, and I chose to stay with him.
As I write, I hear a knock at my bedroom door. "Come in!" I call.
My dad walks in with a warm smile. "Happy birthday, sweetheart. I hope you have a wonderful day."
"Thanks, Dad," I reply, smiling back. "I'm glad you're here with me."
My dad sits on the edge of my bed. "Do you have any big plans for your birthday?" he asks.
"I was thinking of spending the day writing in my diary," I say, gesturing to the notebook.
"Wow, you got a diary!" my dad exclaims.
"Yeah, I thought it would be a great way to document this year of my life," I reply, feeling a bit self-conscious.
"That's a fantastic idea," my dad says sincerely. "Recording your thoughts and feelings is essential, especially during this time."
I feel grateful for his support. "Thanks, Dad," I say, feeling emotional.
"You're welcome, honey," he replies, giving me a hug.
After he left, I continued writing.
"I stayed with my Dad after my mom divorced him. I decided to stay with my dad because Mom has serious emotional issues; she throws anger fits and drinks all the time. I couldn't let her ruin my life, even though it breaks my heart to be separated from her.
My dad has a beautiful girlfriend, Isabel. They're a fun and energetic couple; we have tons of fun together, and she makes Dad and me feel good.
Isabel is a striking woman with olive skin, dark hair, and hazel eyes. She's beyond beautiful, with a curvy, hourglass figure.
Her warm smile and infectious laugh make her irresistible. She always seems to be in a good mood, quick to joke or share a funny story. Isabel has a way of making you feel at ease, and her presence is comforting.
She also has a knack for making any space feel inviting and comfortable. No wonder everyone gravitates towards her.
Isabel always makes time for me, even when busy. She asks about my day at school and genuinely cares about what I have to say. We bond over card games, movie nights, and homework sessions. It's clear Isabel truly cares about me.
She may not be my biological mom, but Isabel is someone I can count on.
My dad plans to propose to Isabel today, on my birthday. How wonderful!
I quickly bathed and dressed gorgeously in the dress Isabel had chosen for me. She knows what looks good on me. I headed to the garden to see what Isabel and Dad had planned, and was surprised to find Isabel had organized a birthday party with all my friends and classmates!"Isabel, you're the best!" I exclaimed. She had invited my entire class, including Andrea, my long-time crush. I was shocked to see him, considering our last conversation where I confessed my feelings and he revealed he wasn't single.
I smiled and tried to act natural, but my cheeks flushed and my heart raced. Andrea looked handsome in his suit, with a shy smile on his face. I wondered if he felt the same way.
Andrea is brilliant, handsome, and charming; almost every girl at Kingston High has a crush on him. When he wished me a happy birthday, my heart melted. Did he really mean it?
