Fire was sitting in the car driving while Ash was in the back loading the guns and watching the scenery fly by, burnt cars, bloody roads from people running over corpses. Fire's I-pod plunged into the radio playing music since the radios are nothing but static now. Ash wasn't use to traveling still but it was better then a damn airplane. Fire had taken her to go on vacation when they were younger and both of them could hardly stand the crowd "I guess anxiety runs in the family." She joked as they made their way to the plane. Ash had been her friend since they were twelve, so she was more like family now. They had finally gotten to the food court when they heard the flight was canceled, they found it funny but annoying and headed back home, they only lived thirty minuets away so why spend the night in a crowded hotel or at the airport. On the way home Fire would turn up the music and they would all sing to songs they loved till it was interrupted by an alert, one no one ever heard before or were expecting. An outbreak at a hospital killing thousands, and wasn't just in Washington it was all over the world. Ash quickly called up her family only for the phones to be busy, they both hoped everyone was alright.

That was six years ago, They mostly stayed in the house and only went out when they needed to search for the essentials. But now they had to leave, a horde was heading their way and the supplies were gone in their town or expired by now, their home would no longer be safe for them. This was the first time back in a car after that outbreak, so they all didn't know what to do or where to go. "We should head east, the pass will have snow around the areas so its less likely to have walkers around, and if their are the could would help slow them down for sure." Fire smiles as she looks at Ash, she just nods and looks out the window again, Fire sighed and reached over and gently pet her head like she always did to help calm her down. "We'll be okay, and the pass has that shop we like, we can stop by. Maybe you'll find something you like in their, like more rocks and other shiny things, you can start up your little collection again, ya little crow." She smiled as Ash laughed. "Like your one to talk. you had three entire office walls covered in crystals, trinkets, and other little shiny things. If anything you're the one that got me into this shit." Ash smirks as Fire starts to laugh. She nods her head and looks back at the road. Ash looks over at the snow piles on the ground and looks worried "The snow, it was plowed... You think someone is around here?" Fire look around at the freshly plowed snow and starts to pick up the speed zooming down the road "Let's not stick around to find out." as they drive off Ash looks at the main ski resort and sees a man standing outside watching them a gun in hand but not attacking, he was just watching them drive off.

Its been hours that they were in the car, Fire was starting to nod off. Ash shakes her arm making sure she was awake till they were able to pull over in a small town, one Fire and her father had visited all the time when they were heading out to see her sister. She goes quiet and shakes her head as they pull into a small motel "Don't sleep in the beds, make sure to grab your sleeping bags from the back." She pulls out her machete and headed to the main office while Ash stayed by the car. She walked in ready to fight till she saw most were already dead, a gunshot to the head, none of the workers wanting to turn into those monsters outside. Fire sighed and grabbed a set of room keys on the wall then checks around the office for anything. She finds some small bloody blankets that looked to be for a baby, she leaves them alone and backs up not daring to look further into the office. Fire walks out to see Ash waiting by the car with the sleeping bags and some canned food that is quick to cook. She smiles softly and heads to the room with the matching number on the keys and unlocks the door. They walk in ready to fight till they saw it was clear. Ash sighed and set the stuff down on the table and laid out her sleeping bag on the bed and watched as Fire did the same then flop onto it, they let out some laughs as dust formed a cloud, Ash opened a window to help air out the dust a bit then handed her a can of food "We cant start a fire inside and I don't think its safe to start one outside, so its going to be cold soup for dinner." Fire lets out a huff but nods and sits up.

Before they could open the food and enjoy their meal, they hear the car start up. They jump up and run out the door to see the man they saw before now slamming the car door and taking off. Fire ran a bit to the road and yelled out "God damn it! You asshole!" She kicked a rock and took a deep breath as Ash walked over and patted her shoulder, "We cant do anything now. But we will need to find bags and get some new cloths and some new guns too. We left the gun bag in the back." Ash starts to walk back to the room and turns to see Fire walking in behind her. "The fucker had a bandana on, if I ever find him I'm dragging him behind the damn car with it wrapped around his neck!" She sat on the bed and opened the food to eat. Ash nods "I'll help ya out with that." She smiles and laughs, Fire joins in filling the room with laughter, till the night falls and they fall asleep. The sounds of birds flying off and cawing can be heard as the night brought dreams to them, dreams of a life before all the chaos started, the friends they made online, the family they had lost. Fire wakes and sits up quickly, she looks out the window as tears fall from her eyes, She missed her sister, her dad, her other friends and her fiance. She sighs and messes with the ring on her finger that he had given to her the day he had gotten bitten, the memories of having to kill him and the others still haunted her.
