607.Meet The Elders

Jennie asked him. "Do you know something about Somi?"

"I'll tell you if you promise to be my girlfriend!" He offered.

Jennie could not be bothered to deal with him. She glanced at the cup in his hands before looking at him. "You should be thankful that Lisa isn't home right now, and that there aren't any maids in the living room. Otherwise, Lisa would have dealt with you before I could do anything to you."

"Hmph!" Did she think he was a fool? He had carefully chosen this opportunity to speak to her.

But Jiang Xingnan did not hurt her. Instead, he even warned her to be wary of Somi. Thus, she decided not to be offended about him kissing the cup.

She then left for her company. Jiang Xingnan found it meaningless to stay there any further and also left.

An hour later, she received a message from Lisa: [Jennie, are you free tomorrow? I... wish to take you to the Manoban family's old mansion.]

A hint of joy flashed past Jennie's eyes as she read his message.

She responded almost immediately: [Sure.]

Lisa, who was currently in the Sheng Shi Group's CEO's office, read her message nervously and then sighed in relief.

God only knew that he had been hoping to take her back to the Manoban family more than a year ago.

However, he had been worried that she wouldn't be used to the environment. She also felt there wasn't any need for her to meet his family that early on.

After all, even after he married Jennie, he had no plans on moving into the Manoban family's old mansion.

Jennie was nearly twenty-one years old. He had thought of marrying her when she turned twenty. Unfortunately, her mother's passing was revealed that year and it wasn't suitable to organise a wedding then. Now, it was finally the right time.

Lisa had fantasised about marrying Jennie countless times.

He brought his phone out. The wallpaper was Jennie's photo.

His rough fingers brushed against the image of her stunning beauty, as though he was holding her in person.

No matter what, she always had the power to move his heart.

He kissed the image gently and began speaking slowly and heavily. "Jennie, will you marry me?"

He had repeated these words countless times in his heart.

In a few days, he would make them a reality!

The next morning, Lisa did not head to the company. Instead, he handled his work from Yu Ting Villa's study.

He completed the tasks by 10:00 a.m. and immediately asked Butler Zhao, who was waiting outside the door. "Where's Jennie?"

"She is in the dressing room next to the main bedroom," Butler Zhao responded respectfully.

Lisa rushed upstairs and pushed open the door into the dressing room. He saw that Jennie was dressed in a lilac dress that went past her knees. Her hair was tied into a bun and she had applied a thin layer of makeup. As a result, she appeared even more gorgeous than she normally did.

She was taking in her own appearance through the mirror. When she saw him enter, she immediately turned around. "Lisa, do you think it's alright if I head to the Manoban family's mansion dressed like this?"

"You can do whatever you like." His gaze was filled with love. He brought her into his arms and nibbled on her ear softly. "My Jennie looks beautiful no matter what she wears!"

She pushed him away gently and whined. "I'm asking for your opinion! Tell me."

"It's very suitable." He sized her up carefully and found that the more he looked at her, the more beautiful she appeared. "The next time we return to the Manoban family's mansion, there's no need to put in this much effort. You can dress however you like."

She lifted her chin and looked at him. "I'm doing this because you're important to me."

In her previous life, when he took her home to meet the Manoban family's elders, she had intentionally dressed crudely. Her make-up had been thick and her clothes were revealing.
