613.Change Surnames

Kai stood behind the corner at the end of the hallway. As he listened to Grandfather Manoban's words, he clenched his fists tightly.

Did they deserve to suffer this humiliation simply because they were not of the Manoban family's bloodline? Frustratingly, despite how poorly Elder Manoban treated them, he could not bring himself to let go of the wealth and glory which the Manoban family gave him.

On the other hand, to Lisa's Grandfather and parents, everything Lisa did was always correct.

Somi lowered her head. Although she felt especially humiliated, she similarly could not bring herself to give up the position and wealth which she enjoyed in the Manoban family.

Butler Mingde approached them. His wrinkled face was covered in cold sweat as he explained to Chongshan. "Elder, my apologies. I trust that Miss Somi did not intentionally lead Miss Kim to bow towards Madam and this subordinate."

Initially, this matter was hidden between the lines. However, he stepped forward and clearly put it out in the open.

Somi's expression turned poor. "Uncle De, you've misunderstood. I really didn't intend for this to happen."

Mingde had worked for Elder Manoban for most of his life. He was naturally loyal to a fault and was deeply respected in the Manoban family's old mansion. Thus, everyone had to address him as 'Uncle De'.

"Alright. I've already said everything that I need to say." Chongshan's insightly gaze scanned Huang Zhishu and Somi for a moment. "There's no need to explain further. Remember your boundaries."

"I understand." Somi and Huang Zhishu responded obediently.

Jennie suddenly felt very pleased.

In the past, she did not pay good attention to Somi's position in the Manoban family and assumed that they had always doted on her. In contrast, she thought herself to be a proper outsider.

She stood on her tiptoes and whispered into Lisa's ears. "Your grandfather and your parents are quite cute."

A hint of a smile appeared on Lisa's face. "I'm glad that you like them."
