"Don't make things difficult for her, or say anything that will make her unhappy." Lisa's expression was cold and his tone was stern. With his noble and charismatic aura, he made for an intimidating sight without needing to appear angry.
Even Chongshan did not dare to easily offend his grandson.
Of course, Lisa was also the greatest source of his pride. The position that his son, Hong, had in the political world today could not have been obtained without his grandson's hardwork and schemes.
Lisa was definitely an even more outstanding figure than Hong!
He lifted his hand and waved it as an acknowledgement of his grandson's request.
Lisa finally released Jennie's little hand.
Kai had been mostly silent tonight. He watched as Jennie headed up the stairs. He recalled that her appearance was stunning to the point where one glance at it was sufficient to leave anybody dumbstruck.
He then recalled Jennie's previous, ugly and fat appearance...
Despite the fact that nearly two years had passed, he still struggled to be accustomed to her stunning beauty.
The woman, who had admired him since he was young, now behaved like conjoined twins with Lisa.
Kai's stomach was heavy with regret. If only he had accepted and slept with Jennie back then.
He still hoped that it wasn't too late to regret things right now.
He wanted both the Manoban family and Jennie! Kai concealed the schemes he had in mind and smiled in a refined manner. "Cousin..."
Lisa was not interested in listening to his nonsense. He followed Jennie up the stairs.
Kai's smile stiffened. His seemingly refined appearance turned vicious.
Huang Zhishu noticed the change in her son's expression. She frowned slightly. "Compose yourself."
"I understand, Mom." Kai nodded.
His mother had always educated him appropriately. She taught him that he needed to conceal his ambitions before he could cause the collapse of the Manoban family. Otherwise, he would only be eliminated.
Somi's gaze was fixated on Lisa's charming back view. Her gaze was completely lovestruck.
Kai noticed his sister's gaze and whispered. "Somi, you were too rash today."
Somi was always open with her brother and mother. "I will take note of my behaviour in the future." So what if Lisa and Jennie's wedding was impending? There were countless troubles she could cause within the next fourteen days!
In the study room upstairs, several framed calligraphy pieces were displayed on the wall.
There were famous antiques as well as Chongshan's works. Chongshan Manoban was extremely fond of calligraphy. His works also drew a lot of admiration.
The shelves were also filled with various books and the scent of books was heavy in the air.
Jennie directly approached a beautiful calligraphy piece hung on the wall. It wasn't signed.
Nonetheless, she read the words out softly: [All rivers run into the sea]
"What beautiful calligraphy! Grandfather, you must have written this, didn't you?"
A hint of astonishment flashed past Chongshan's experienced gaze. "How did you know?"
"These words appear to be written by an experienced hand. The ink gives off a refined aura and the strokes were made without any hesitation. It has the boldness of a dragon's spirit! Calligraphy tends to resemble the person who wrote it. It is outstanding in ways that are similar to you, Grandfather." Although Jennie was speaking truthfully, it was likely that she was also trying to flatter him.
"Hahaha... I never expected that my future grand daughter-in-law would have a keen appreciation for calligraphy." A hint of admiration appeared in Chongshan's gaze.
"Grandfather, you flatter me too much. I've also practiced calligraphy a little myself. I'll write some words for you when we have the time." She had intentionally learned this after her rebirth in order to win Grandfather Manoban's favour. She had invested time to learn this skill deeply.
Come to think of it, it had been more than a year since she secretly began her practice.
"Good, good." Chongshan stroked his white beard and suddenly spoke seriously. "Jennie, you will soon marry into our Manoban family. In the past, the rumours about you and Kai..."
