Michael's POV

I can't believe that I actually met Earth's spirit. I never thought a mystical could be so hot; especially not the Earth Spirit. I just hope my dad doesn't find them.

"So Michael, what brought you into the forest?" Ashton asked me.

"I was trying to get away from everyone's laughter. The entire town believes in you guys, but my father is the only one in town that is obsessed" I said.

Before anything else was said, Luke flew down to the branch we were on, holding a small fennec fox.

"Did Rose get stuck again?" Ashton asked Luke.

"Yes, she tried to run between two tightly squeezed rocks" Luke said, petting the fox's head. Ashton laughed and so did Luke. The fox got off of Luke's lap and walked over to me.

"Rose wants you to pet her" Luke said, smiling. I nodded and stroked behind her long ears. Rose closed her eyes and laid down on my lap.

"How long have you lived in this forest?" I asked. Luke looked up and I could tell he was trying to think.

"I think we've been in this forest for about 300 years. We had to run from the last forest because some people saw us and tried to film us" Luke said after thinking about it for a few minutes.

"Why can't you be filmed?" I asked curiously.

"We are suppose to stay hidden from all human knowledge. people may believe in us but they can't see or videotape us unless we let them. If they see us without our knowledge, it could lead to absolute disaster" Ashton explained.

"Did you want me to see you?" I asked.

"It was unplanned at first, but now I'm glad that you saw me" Luke stated with a smile. I must say that he is hot for someone that has probably lived here when the dinosaurs were still walking.

"It was very nice to meet the two of you, but I need to be getting home" I said, gently moving the sleeping fox off of my lap.

"If you want, I could fly you to the entrance of the forest" Luke said, smiling at me. I just nodded my head. He grabbed my hands and flew up into the sky. We soon arrived at the entrance of the forest and Luke put me down.

"It was nice to meet you Michael. I never really hung out with a mortal. I will allow you to come back, but you need you to promise not to bring anybody with you" Luke said. I just nodded and quickly ran home.

When I got home, my dad had a boy with big, blue wings hanging from the chains on the wall. I could literally see the fear in his eyes.

"Um dad... Who is that?" I asked, pointing at the boy.

"This is Calum. He is something called a balianto" My father said as he picked up his syringe.

"W-What are you going to do with him?" I asked nervously. I was a little worried as to what my dad was going to do to the boy.

"Run a few tests. I need to find out more about these creatures" He replied as he walked over to the boy with the syringe.

"Dad, is this really necessary. Why can't you just let the Mysticals live in peace like they did for thousands of years. They don't bother anyone" I said.

"Look, I know you don't like what I do to these creatures, but I need to find out more about them. The only way that I can do that is by running tests on them" He replied, cleaning the needle's tip and putting it into Calum's arm.

After two minutes, Calum let out a loud agonizing scream.

"What is that chemical doing to him" I shouted over his screams.

"It has reached his power core. I should've told you that when this reaches the power core of a mystical, it causes them severe pain" He explained.

"What did you inject him with?" I asked.

"Syncelinda. The chemical has a chip in it that will transmit information to my computer" He explained.

"Well, I'm going to go upstairs and try to think about nicer things to do with my life" I said, turning around.

"Wait, what is that in your back pocket?" I stopped as he pulled something out of my pocket. I turned around and saw him holding a purple rose with the center being lavender. A very rare kind of rose.

"Where did that come from?" I asked, staring at the rose.

"This is a Maggoda Rose. The only other time I've seen one was when I nearly caught Earth's spirit" He said. I felt my heart skip a beat in fear.

"Tell me about the last time you saw one of these roses" I said.

"It was about two years ago. I saw this blonde boy wearing a flower crown. His eyes were as blue as the ocean. He was in the forest and I noticed that whenever he sat down, a few of these roses grew around him. I had my net with me and went to grab him, but apparently Earth's spirit can feel the vibrations of running in the ground" He explained.

"That is so weird. How did the rose get in my pocket?" I asked, sounding confused. Luke must've accidently grown it when he sat next to me.

"I don't know, but this must mean that the Earth Spirit lives in the forest. Tomorrow, I am going to go into the forest and find him" My dad said.

I need to warn Luke.
