Lux's POV:
When I arrived at North Shore High, I immediately wanted to go back home. When I saw all of these judgemental looking teens, making a big deal about so much unimportant stuff, I instanly knew why I was home schooled for so long.
I was glad that I was completely confident in my personality since all of these judgemental stares, would've probably made me feel like something was wrong with me when I was younger.
When I walked inside, I was immediately lost. High schools were bigger than I thought. I had no idea where my first class was and all of the students, always looking away when I looked at them probably weren't very open to help me.
I almost felt like a lost kitten in the middle of all these students, who clearly knew everything about this place.
I continued to look at the signs above me, hoping they could guide me but they weren't a big help.
While I continued to look up at them, I ended up bumping into a girl and she dropped her books.
"Oh shit I'm so sorry", I said and helped her pick up her books.
"It's alright. You seemed quite lost, are you new by any chance?", the girl asked me and I nervously bit my lip.
"Is it that obvious?", I asked and she giggled.
"To me yes because you kinda reminded me of myself when I was new here last year. Wow, it's wild to not be considered the new girl anymore", she said and I smiled.
Maybe she was open to help me out since she was in my position not so long ago.
"I'm Lux by the way. Do you mind showing me where french class is?", I asked and she smiled warmly.
"Of course, I have the same class. I'm Cady", she said and I was relieved that I had someone, who walked with me.
"Why did you transfer here?", she asked while we were walking to our class.
"I was home schooled because my parents were concerned that being in a school could make me lose my artistry because of peer pressure but I was living in my own bubble so much that they thought I should learn to be more aware of social normities", I explained and her eyes lit up.
"Oh my god I was home schooled too before I got here! I lived in Kenya before, so trust me, getting used to the high school world can be quite overwhelming", she said and I chuckled.
"Do you mind guiding me so I'm at least aware of how things go? I mean I was among teens a lot but they were home schooled artist weirdos like me so", I said and she laughed.
"Sure home schooled girls have to stick together. I can introduce you to my friends later, they also helped me out a lot when I was new", she said and I was so glad that I bumped into her.
When I walked inside my class, I noticed that all eyes were on me.
"Oh you must be the new student", the french teacher said while Cady sat down at a table in the front row.
"Uh Yeah am I'm Lux Johnson", I said awkwardly said and I heard a high pitched gasp.
"Oh my god you're the tiktoker and queer legend Lux!", a boy said and I could tell immediately that he was totally gay, most people, who watched my tiktoks were.
The girl next to him immediately started to look at me more closely. It almost seemed like she was checking me out but I didn't mind...
She kinda was my type. Her goth rock style and edgy make up really had a big effect on me. Damn. Everything about her was attractive to me, I rarely met someone, who I was so attracted to in an instant.
