Fear made Yeosang's heart pound as he ran, he ducked too late and a tree branch caught his coat, he stumbled and almost fell, but he kept running. The sound of grunting mixed with that of his heavy breathing.

I'm going to die, he thought, panicked. He forced his legs to keep running and tried to ignore the cuts on his bare feet. A week earlier, he had told his coworker that he hated the idea of turning thirty at the end of this month.

Now you won't have to worry about that, his mind whispered to her. I'm not going to survive to celebrate my birthday.

A branch creaked loudly to his left, and he knew they were getting closer. They could have caught him already, but instead, they were playing with him, chasing him through the forest, for the simple pleasure of hunting him. How had they found her or how did he not realize they were following him? He didn't know it, but it shouldn't have happened. His mother had sworn to him that no one suspected the truth. Unfortunately, now his worst nightmare had come true.

Two men had approached him while he was leaving the shopping in the car, one of them punched him in the face and when he woke up, he found himself in the middle of hell. They had taken his shoes and given him a five-minute head start.

Howls filled the forest around him. He saw a dark shape in front of him and changed direction to avoid it. At this moment, he wished he had the speed and agility of his attackers. He tripped over something on the floor and fell, landing painfully on his knees and arms. The dry leaves stung a little into the palms of his hands. He tried to get up, but his limbs trembled from exhaustion.

A deep growl made his head turn and pure horror took hold as he saw a large black wolf emerging from the bushes. Drool was dripping down his jaw and his sharp teeth were showing. He raised a paw and took a step towards him.

Five meters separated them, but for him, the beast was not far enough. The leaves rustled again and he slowly turned his head in the direction of the sound, a second wolf appeared from the side of a large rock and a third followed close behind. They growled, obviously intending to attack him. He gasped, sweat running down his back, and looked up at the nearest tree. He hoped the branch was close.

low enough to reach it. It took every ounce of his strength to push off his feet and jump. That was one of the few traits he had inherited from his father, but one that might help him survive. He grabbed the branch with both hands and placed one bare foot on the bark of the tree. Something furry brushed against his other leg. The survival instinct and fear motivated him to hold on tighter to the branch and not look down. He began to climb, up to the thinnest branches of the tree and stopped when one creaked.

The wind blew hard and he swayed the tops of the trees, his stomach tightened and he wondered if his weight would break the branch. The wind stopped and he looked down at the ground. Another wave of fear hit her hard and left her breathless. Below, there were at least six wolves, looking at her. He forced himself to breathe again and studied the area around him. The distance between the trees was too great to jump from one branch to another and escape. They had him trapped. The wolves howled and he shivered. More wolves approached and he gasped as one of them began to transform, from wolf to human.

The man had short brown hair and tanned skin. He crouched for long seconds while he recovered from the transformation and then raised his head and looked at him. The boy was about twenty years old.

"Come here," he demanded, "That's not fair."

Another wolf turned into a man. He guessed that he was a teenager, judging by his youthful appearance. His nakedness didn't seem to bother them in the slightest, since the youngest looked at him in surprise and the brunette frowned at him.

"Man, have you seen how fast he climbed that tree? Why hasn't he changed?"

The brunette shrugged" I don't know and I don't care" He jumped up to the first branch, "Come here or I'll go up for you."

Yeosang didn't know what to say. The shock and horror of his situation had left him speechless. He licked his lips and forced his brain to work.

"Leave me alone, I haven't done anything to you!"

"You're still breathing," The brunette paused, "You're cute and I'm hot, you shouldn't have gone out alone. I'm going to fuck you before I kill you."

He was very clear that talking to them would not get him out of this mess. They didn't care that he hadn't done anything to them or that he hadn't looked for them, they wanted to kill him because he was his father. He tried to remember his face, but couldn't. The photographs of him did not survive the fire that took his life just weeks after his fifth birthday.

More wolves approached the small clearing and there were now eleven in total, including the two humans. Werewolves were feared, ferocious creatures and great enemies of those like their father. That's why they had attacked him.

"It's not even funny," the teen laughed, "No one would be crazy enough to touch one of them, that's sick, Jiwoo."

"Don't be an idiot," Jiwoo scoffed, "I'd like to fuck him."

"I'm not," the teen sputtered, "I guess you'll be the first to have sex with him."

Someone snorted loudly and a man in his twenties approached the tree and looked towards Yeosang.

"You're a fool, having sex? It's called fucking," the naked man smiled, "And yes, he's a pretty attractive hunk."

Yeosang shivered in fear, "Get out."

A howl went through the forest and the men became noticeably agitated. The brunette turned his head in the direction of the sound.

"Shit, San is coming, he won't let us play."

A large black wolf entered the clearing. Yeosang could even say that he was the greatest of them all. He growled so loudly that he started to shake. She was surprised by the speed of his transformation. He had always assumed that the change was deeply painful, but he showed no sign of pain.

The man was bigger than the others also in his human form. He had short, coal-black hair. He looked huge. The man jumped up and rolled his broad shoulders to relax his muscles. He turned to face the men standing under the tree.

"Jiwoo, I told you to stop hunting in these forests, you've almost killed everything."

The Chestnut hesitated, "And we heard you, we are actually hunting something that does not belong in our territory."

The larger man placed his hands on his bare hips. His ass and back were visible to Yeosang, but with the leaves on the branches, he couldn't see him very well.

"That's not the point," he said hoarsely, "I told you to stop killing for a while, that doesn't mean you can buy something for fun. Do you have any idea how much it will cost my father to replace all the animals you've killed?"

"We're supposed to be discreet, don't you think people will notice that there are no deer or rabbits in this area?"

"But-"

"Enough," the larger man roared. And the forest remained in a strange silence. Even the birds were silent. Time seemed to freeze and then the brunette spoke.

"We need to finish the first one, we can't let him go."

"Shit," the man thundered, "Go home."

"What if he tells anyone what we did with him? He could get our pack in trouble if his family gets mad."

The large man's head snapped up and Yeosang stopped breathing as a handsome face looked up at him. He had strong, masculine features and his dark eyes widened as his gaze met hers. The man roared ferociously and Yeosang shivered, terrified and almost lost his tight grip on the branch he was clinging to.

The man beneath him moved quickly, raised a fist and hit the brunette, who flew about two meters before crashing back into the ground.

"Get out!" he growled, "Before I kill you for being idiots" The brunette stood up, with the mark of the punch very visible on his face, and then everyone fled, wolves and men. Everyone except the black-haired stranger, who stood motionless for a few minutes and then slowly tilted his head again, his dark, angry gaze boring into Yeosang once more.
