Stomping and grumbling their way through the school at night, Kim No-name was upset. They knew something felt off and wrong about this section of the school, but nooo obviously the mean guard knows better than to listen to a magic hunter and fall into a trap. They weren't an magic hunter at all! They couldn't be, after all they were disowned for having light magic. LIGHT MAGIC! One of the known types of magic that can't actually really hurt anything or anyone! They turned the corner into the area they discovered the oddity in.
*plink plink plink*
Kim blinked, hearing the sound of water hitting the tiled floor, realizing there were no leaky pipes near their location, they froze, and then turned around cautiously. They slowly looked up-and SCREAMED.
------The next day------
"Hey Lilian, did you hear? They found blood in the arts hall that belongs to 1st year Kim Asquith-Barclay, you know the child of those magic hating and hunting nobles!" 2nd year Mikaela Shadowsoath excitedly told her friend Lilian Breezesong who also was a 2nd year. "Wha-" Lilian spluttered. "Why do you sound so happy?! That's terrible!" "Aww come on, it's not like something really bad happened, besides even if something did, they probably deserved it." Mikaela whined. Day-patrol guard member Hadley Ashford stopped cold, overhearing the conversation from where he was patrolling the school grounds. "They didn't find a body though and that would have been more exciting, wouldn't it have?!" Mikaela continued.
Hadley turned pale and turned around and ran to the arts hall. He thought the whole time there about how he had dismissed the concerns the tiny first year had on assumptions that they had made it up to lure him into a trap. After all, Kim was a well known member of a noble house that doesn't like magic. And things don't get much more magical than a member of the day-patrol guard of the elite magical school; Morgana's Wishes.
Now however he was really starting to regret not listening to Kim, if they got hurt because he didn't listen... he wouldn't know what to do with himself. "Finally." He thought as he began to see the signs and posters of the art hallway. He turned the corner into A-hall, and collapsing onto his knees, he screamed. His mind raced furiously and his breathing stopped. For blocking his way were crime scene tapes and just past those tapes were large puddles of blood-still partially wet.
"Oh no. What did he do?! This was all his fault. If he had listened. If he had not just assumed. But he did, and now an 11-year old had paid the price with blood and possibly their life. He got up, dusting himself off. He wasn't going to make this mistake again. He was going to listen to EVERY student and make sure they listen to him and follow the rules. Then, THEN maybe this wouldn't have happened. "Well." He thought. "This won't happen again-NEVER AGAIN."
